How it feels lately - League of Legends

Come home from work, Eat, Get onto computer, Double click League of Legends client, Log on, Look who is playing, . . . . . Everyone quit . . . . . Close the client, Study instead.

At least my education is going well.

...yeah.

I took a very extended break that ended a few weeks ago, I had a pretty large friendlist and maybe 15 were still around.

I know the community is "larger than ever" but when you're shedding off old players like that it's indicative of something not working well... :\

Played with these guys for months, some for years. Several quit after hitting Diamond, others quit after frustration.

I'm in the same boat.

Log on as a habit, then I think to myself "do I want to play this?" and I log off.

I played from the Nocturne patch until the end of 2014 and my friendslist was always healthily populated by the same folks.

Now I've got one group of friends who still play sometimes and a few random stragglers.

And with this most recent patch, even if I had people to play with I can't really see it being very fun to do so. :( But, like you said, at least your studies are going well.

A lot of my friends and I have been playing since Season 1. We all quit this season.

Must be a coincidence.

Imagine putting hours into Ranked to prove that you've deserved your MMR, your rank.

Then Season 6 DQ comes in and your MMR is compared to the MMR of 4 man premades.

I felt crushed personally. So much effort to polish my skill just to be matched up against a well communicated team.

they continue to do things no one asked for and not do things people are begging for, people leave, what a concept.

Welcome to gaming. It happens with every game.

Yea, I had the day off today. No desire to play at all.

The changes to the dragon and the rift herald were fucking atrocious.

I don't care about dicking around with mages.... but the core mechanics of the game and how those play out is fucking retarded.

Eh, thats why I wouldn't recommend it. Toxicty has almost literally shot up like 300%. Its insane.

With or without friends I lack incentive to play this game.

It has gone stale and the tank item meta isn't helping.

Can confirm all of my friends quit lol. We were 7 guys around Gold-Plat some had dreams od Diamond. We all quit, it happened really quickly 2 months into the season. It isn't a coincidence.

League sucks right now because Riot is entirely overhauling the base systems in the game. We're in an awkward adolescent transition phase right now. Which is why Marksmen were so overbearing for the longest time, they're the only ones really performing at Riot's new standard - Juggernauts were brought to that point but were toned back because~~ they're melee~~ it was too much for other types of champs that were not updated.

Juggernaut update, Marksmen update, Mage update, and probably Assassin or Diving Fighter update coming up soon. The new masteries were a huge power creep too. League is never going to be the same game it once was, and the new design direction seems heavily "less League, more DotA". Before, the difference between champions was heavily nuanced - with multiple champions being able to fulfill the same function in just an every so slightly different way, where you could really substitute similar champions in a particular team comp to get the same result. Now, everyone needs to have their own niche.

Now we're heading into a relatively super-specialized game, where not only champions have to have their own unique niche but items do as well - but they must exceed exceptionally well in that one purpose, which changes the landscape dramatically.

Lol, people periodically or permanently get tired of a game that's been around since 2008? No WAI.

it happens with every game. am sure whoever started playing now is like "this game is great" and when it changes " ugh this sucks back in my day kids...".what are you gonna do . things change. personally i started playing a cpl weeks or a month before the marskman update hit. and that was my favorite part of the game. i used to see every champion played. but i think the game is better state than it was last month. they are fixing things and adding old things (bloodrazor. lost chapter).

When I find myself more inclined to hang at a particular games forum or reddit section, than actually playing the game, spells bad news.

I guess it's Leagues turn to die, damn shame really, it had to happen sooner or later, just wish it was later.
