I really wish support has to actually build AP to have stronger shield than having free % healing

I think support gets too many free stats to enhance their ability at support, % Healing/Shield increase is probably the biggest offender. Maybe support could actually have higher heal or shield scaling and actually have some sort of big ap items in their kit. I would like to see Soraka doing damage,

Then that would require support income to be greater. But that won't happens since laners will abuse the gold gains from the support items. And non-supports wouldn't be buying things with heal-shield power, so they can safely price those things low for supports to use.

I see an easy way around it, actually. Just buff the passive that you get from minions dying near you (that you don't kill yourself). It's not useful for laners since they want to list hit everything and the passive doesn't help. It would require them to miss cs just to get a small amount of gold from the item.
