I've noticed people like to complain a lot about AFKs in ranked and losing LP. However on the flip side of the coin the other team is getting the AFKer just as often as you are (unless you specifically are so toxic people AFK to avoid you). So I never see people be happy when they get a win because the other team just lost a 4v5. TBH I kind feel bad for the other guys, but I realize it's 50-50.

So even though I wish there was something more to be done about AFKing, like early surrenders or something like that, people really shouldn't get as bummed out about it as they do. Remember for every LP you lose to an AFKer, you are probably getting one for the same reason.

The one time we had an afk on the enemy team for once, they had someone fed (I don't remember who, probably their mid or adc) and we lost anyway. Meanwhile I had a really bad streak of five on my team in a row. Still salty over that. ;~;

I showed absolutely zero mercy in that game, so I won't hold it against people when they do it against me (and it has happened). That's fair.

I can understand if the player decided to afk half-way through the match, but even then, do you REALLY deserve to win in a 4 v 5? Do you even need to try as hard when another person is missing?

No.

I don't understand how ANYONE can even CONSIDER League of Legend's rank system as being COMPETITIVE when your response to losing due to an afk is "oh well, they enemy team will also get an afk in another game." This is even more true with players that never connect (NC AFKs). How the hell can you even pretend that it's ACTUALLY fair when it's clearly an imbalance and someone is inherently disadvantaged by the lack of a teammate.

I have absolutely no respect for ranked until it EFFECTIVELY deals with the issue of AFK players. I will never consider ranked to be a n area to test your team-oriented gameplay and to play competitively when it's entirely possible for you to just get fucked over because you're short 1 person. That's not competitive, that's a joke.

Not really, and I didn't say it was fair. It's not really fair when I play ranked and I get a dumbass trolling J4 support when I ADC as well (thank God Akali carried so hard). Would you have had me go back to base and not done anything all game? Then I'd be losing LP through no fault of my own. How is that more fair?

I think it would definitely be better if there was a system in place to prevent afks or make it so that you don't get punished so badly for them. But there's not. And I'm just not going to get so worked up over it.
