Why dont we put a cooldown on mini gnar's W?
That's the freaking problem.
That's the freaking problem.
Or make it like Ekko's passive, a timer for each target. Cant proc it after few seconds.
Would affect his dueling without really hurting his waveclear. I like it.
A thread asked before the same question, and one of the top comments was that it's probably because he can only proc it so many times before he transforms anyway. His W still is a problem though, I personally think if they would make it %HP physical damage it would make him healthier as you could itemize against him early game and his mini form would be actually viable late game
, it's a win-win for everyone.
Please. Trying to itemize against Gnar is a nightmare.
Armor? Magic damage. MR? Physical damage. Health? % health damage.
It's like you have Kog'Maw top-lane except he has an escape and transforms for free tankiness.

I said "please" :/
I thought you were saying "please" sarcastically. My bad.
Yes. This. I hate how his 3 hit passive does magic damage. It makes it a pain to decide which defensive item to get first.
Why don't we put a cooldown on Jax's passive ult then?
Logic
lol jax doesn't have ranged % damage or build mallet to permaslow you
what a terrible comparison
Something you seem to lack as Jax isn't a ranged and can be kited.
Jax also doesn't have a problem jumping on your face and melting you. Yeah, he can be kited. But to a very small extend, mind you. He's not like Darius/Garen/trundle etc who has 0 gap closers and get kited to oblivion.
Jax also isnt as half as tanky as those fuckers and cant play the entire game with 1 damage item and 5 tank items.
Actually, I disagree. He technically is half as tanky. You also can't forget that his ultimate gives him additional bonus damage and MR, and let's not forget the fact that he can also negate damage from half of the other team depending on their roster with his counterstrike.
Ulti which lasts for 2 seconds and gives shitty stats, doesnt give any damage and i hardly ever play a game where half the enemy team depends on autoattacks so that counterstrike is actually op. As a long time Jax player I find him pathetic this season, I never remember having easy time in lane and being average late game. This season is just...
Because Mini Gnar dies when you sneeze on him. And it's what allows him to function as he does. If you nerfed his ability to consistently proc it, Mini Gnar would automatically lose duels because he'd have no relevant damage outside of his Q. This would mean all-ins destroy him (they already do tbh) to the point where you'd never pick him. The reason he can beat tanks not named Malphite is because he can out DPS them in Mini Gnar, because tanks and fighters aren't afraid of Mega Gnar - they prefer to fight mega.
I know people don't like it and I admit it is a pain but putting a timer on it guts his ability to lane. And Gnar is already weak against gap closing bruisers or armor stacking tanks, he doesn't need any changes. I think Gnar is actually pretty healthy and that's saying a lot for a ranged poke based champion because they usually aren't.

Frozen mallet means he doesn't die when sneezed on.

Mini Gnar has some of the worst base defensive stats in the game, he still dies pretty quickly.

If that were true, he wouldn't be dominating. Also, god forbid he have some window of weakness in his overloaded arsenal.

47% winrate would suggest he's not dominating. And he's a strong pick in competitive, he isn't the strongest. And nothing about his kit is overloaded.

I understand you're a massive Gnar fan, I'm not trying to attack you personally. But he has a LOT of mechanics in his kit. His own designer agrees. Groovylord just did an AMA and said he was concerned that Gnar had too much going on to be strong, and when balanced is hard to play.
Gnar's passive SHOULD have a CD just like Ekko but for same target. It would REALLY take away some of his oppressiveness.
u AND gnar shouldnt survive a transformation to mega then mini, then mega again... atleast i havent experienced that
I'm talking his 3-hit passive. Hyper.
Should have a CD like Ekko's, where they can't get 3 stacks in quick succession. That's the main reason Frozen Mallet was so dominant on Gnar...
But Riot logic...

He's not nearly as oppressive as something like Pantheon top, Illaoi top or Lissandra top. He actually has several windows of weaknesses and they can be exploited. Certain immobile melees will lose to him but those same immobile melees basically lose to anything ranged.
Just give Gnar and Ekko a 13 second cd on it like Kled.
Yeah I want to see a cool down for each target like Ekko Passive
A Per Champ ICD would solve the problem. If it's too much, they can buff the damage a bit to compensate.
You really don't want to make Gnar more bursty. He can almost always secure a won trade with his W proc + Thunderlords and if needed E to disengage. This way you would probably make him much more opressing.
But he's not quite as durable either. It's a trade-off.
Or make it like Vaynes Silverbolt.
If gnar hits you, you get a stack up to three but if he applies one or two stacks and then autos something else, the stacks you had are gone.
So let's remove the possibility of making the third hit be a Q right?
so make it like kled. nop that means he would get buffs in compensation
or we can make it so if he has 2 procs on you, if he decides to hit a minion once, the proc on me decreases by 1. this would make it so gnars cant juggle between taking 5 percent of my hp and gaining 20 bonus movement speed AND getting cs.
fair nerf and makes it so more decisionmaking goes into his laning.
I wouldn't mind if it had the same cd as ekko passive or maybe a bit less? like a 4second-6second cd would always be nice and make this champion harder to play making him more fun.
But my ap guinsoo gnar build requires skillz
