Shower thought, what if Nasus E gave him movement speed running through it?

Malicious Metal··60 votes·3,312 views

Now that Riot's starting to look at Nasus and try giving some love taps to bring him back into the meta maybe adding some form of light mobility could help him out function as consistently as the other Juggernauts.

Just a stupid idea probably, just wanted to share it regardless

I dont think he needs a speed boost while his W has such a massive slow.

Tell that to stormraiders surge

has a cooldown and is useless early game unless you can get 200 stacks perfectly by what was it i think 15 minutes? or something like that i haven't played nasus in a while

That's freeking terrible. You should have 400 by 20. Closer to 200 easily by 10, 500 by 20 if you have an uncontested farm lane like GP or malphite.

ViciousSummoner1 votes

hey i did say i havent played nasus in a while so i forget how fast you can stack but yeah storm raiders is pretty bad early game especially if the enemy team is smart they'll take advantage of that and you're gonna have a bad time unless you know clown fiesta and then you get free doubles lol

Closer to 200 easily by 10,

No -- your q cooldown at early ranks is long and the first two minutes of the game there is no CS.

It's incorrect to think that 400 stacks by 20 minutes implies you should have 200 stacks by 10 minutes.

I don't think you're using the right runes and masteries. You start with 20%CDR before the game starts. With that and the ensuing cloth+4 which you back into +10% more CDR assuming you hit your Q's and don't suck at CSing the maximum possible at 10 is in the 300 neighborhood. The average if your Csing isn't garbo is 180-220 at 10.

Hardstuck G41 votes

My friend got ~300 in 15 minutes. That was great

Blackstone011 votes

Depends on the lane and his runes/masteries. I run 20% CDR at level 1, and if I go against a lane that can't keep me off the creeps then it's gg /ff @20

Great Ozymandius1 votes

Yes, because stormraider's surge is easy to proc on the enemy frontline when you are Nasus trying to get to the enemy backline. /s

Great Ozymandius1 votes

I don't think you understand how weak Nasus is in late game teamfights. He cannot get to the enemy back line.

So Nasus has a really weird power curve and a frustrating win condition.

Original poster is describing one solution to Nasus' weak teamfight. I'm not sure if it is the right solution, but it is on the right track.

Nasus' intended weakness is to be kiteable and any change to his kit that grants him more mobility is probably a mistake.

The honest truth is, current Nasus just dies too fast for a "juggernaut." I support the changes currently and even though I think Nasus would ultimately benefit from %heals, it's hard to implement them into his kit without taking power away somewhere else.

Nasus was going to have to have power removed from someplace else if he got buffed because on his own without considering the meta, his kit is overpowered as fuck. And any buff could push him into a meta where he's pick or ban and his weaknesses suddenly don't matter and that's not what anyone should want for a champion like Nasus. And this buff made the most sense because it removed power that he barely benefits from in exchange for power he needs while keeping his core weaknesses in tact.

It makes 0 difference to him in lane. Minions don't have armor or magic resistances.

Only change is when he Q's armor stackers like front line he can actually heal. No change to squishies because they don't have armor to begin with, especially with his E.

It makes a huge difference against champions. Even base armor mitigation is significant, especially early.

Then have it scale with level, like Garen's. It's healing amount in lifesteal given increases as does it's utility in being affected premitigation. If necessary you can always tone down the healing a little bit.

Nasus doesn't trade much with enemy champions early game so this is not important.

As someone with a 67% ish win rate as Nasus in 86 games, with a kda of almost 3, I view this whole "nasus is so weak, plz buff him" thing with evil anticipation.

I don't say he's weak but Riot's looking at him atm

However far you are getting on Nasus, you could be going twice the distance on just about any other juggernaut. Nasus needs help

Ralanr1 votes

Other juggernauts do not have infinite scaling damage.

Why is everyone asking for an easier time applying the nuke?

Only Play Darius6 votes

Because in 90% of teamfights, he doesn't get to Q someone who will actually feel the damage more than once. You can thank rampant armor pen and slows.

Ralanr2 votes

Well he's not exactly a big teamfight juggernaut.

Only Play Darius5 votes

So why pick him over juggernauts who are less effective at (but still capable of) splitpushing yet also infinitely better at teamfighting even in the late game?

With no disrespect intended, you have that winrate in low gold. It's a quite a bit different of an experience in higher Elo.

Let me give you some insight here. I've been playing Nasus since s2 as my main, easily over 1000 games on him. This season, on both my accounts between plat 3 to diamond 3 MMR, I have a 43% winrate and 46% winrate on him respectively. But the thing is, I'm not doing poorly on him individually. I have a posititve KD on both accounts and I stay below 4 deaths per game. But it almost always amounts to nothing as I feel almost no significant contribution in any of those games. Compare that to past seasons where I regularly maintained a 60-65% winrate in diamond Elo.

In short, I can tell you both with experience and numbers that Nasus isn't good right now. He feels like absolute dog shit to play, even when you do well. And I detest the lame ass sirchez afk split push no group style of play and I hope if Nasus turns out to be good with these changes and riot nerfs him, they remove his Qs bonus damage applying to towers and help him in teamfights even more if needed.

ItsOrval1 votes

I agree. Nasus is more of the team player. He destroys towers in 3 hits.

Great Ozymandius1 votes

What elo are you at?

Nasus is strong in bronze and silver. He gets weak in gold. In plat+ he is a liability.

CrimsonReaps9 votes

Hey stupid or not at least your looking for a way to make nasus more of a streamline juggernaut.

Tychusfindlay9198 votes

I'd rather it give tenacity and/or slow resistance, it's best if he remain as immobile as possible to stay more in line with his special position as the game's ARCHETYPICAL juggernaut.

kile1471 votes

Tenacity when in his zone? I could get behind that.

Wobly6 votes

I like this idea. I also think it would really help him if they changed the flat pen to % shred, making him a more viable teamfight frontline.

JavelinJoe4 votes

oh yeah, because 1 shotting squishies with your Q and a slow which the dead move faster than, is not enough.

Wobly4 votes

Apparently it isn't since he never gets played competitively and has had a sub 50% win rate in ranked for months, currently sitting at 48% in Plat+.

Also changing his E to % pen from flat pen would make him do less damage to squishies, not more.

JavelinJoe2 votes

It is because he has a "I have to afk farm" mindset about him. People never leave top lane to help gank. And competitive play wise, he is not as good as other champions and can be taken advantage of fairly easily by a well coordinated team. Also close to, if not half of the champions in the game are not played competitively, or at least anymore, or consistently (unlike the random accidental/trolling Teemos we saw over the summer).

Working with his damage is not a good idea since he is pretty much defined already as a stacking damage champion. So adding tank shred would offset his damage output significantly. Also his ult is % health damage so having 2 abilities with it would be even worse. If anything, he needs more work around his mobility, and not just by adding some. They would need to re-balance it entirely so he cant just be extremely sticky/mobile and 1 shots anything if he gets close enough with high enough stacks.

Wobly2 votes

Of course some people play him wrong, but the fact that his win rate in high elo is low, and he's never played competitively suggests that his problem is not being too difficult to play. He's just on the weak side right now.

kile1471 votes

I guess the question is, is Nasus doing poorly because he has a job and doesn't have the tools to properly achieve that, or is it that he can do his job but he doesn't have enough flexibility in his kit to allow him to contribute in any other way if his job isn't working?

If the problem is that he can't do what he needs to then giving him more durability and movement might the answer.

If he needs flexibility then the utility of %armor shred would be a decent change.

Sniper 02 votes

I really don't want Nasus(my computer auto corrects to Susana... xD) getting more in his kit but he is kinda lacking. His slow is just kinda obnoxiously strong, I feel like it makes the rest of his kit harder to balance. Not excited about the ulti changes... gonna make his diving potential more obnoxious. Granted he doesn't get the attack steroid BUT stacks can make up for that. ><

We shall see what this looks like on live though. I haven't had a chance to see it as of yet.

I think the way his stacking operates is the biggest downside to his kit however. I can't really think of a way to put it into words though.

FantasySniper2 votes

How about bonus armor when he's in the AoE?

mikemcparty1 votes

Mobility changes would be too much. The reason Nasus isn't seen competitively is simply because he isn't a competitive champion. He is a solo queue style champ. I hate to break it to some of you, but every champion can't be competitive and mechanically challenging to use. He is an "afk farm, get stacks, and split push to pressure the map" type of champion and that is just his role.

If anything, give him some tenacity or give him a little more natural tankiness at higher levels to make him feel bulkier. He isn't supposed to be fast, he is supposed to be able to be kited and killed when engaging an adc in a one on one.

Champion Skin1 votes

he is supposed to be able to be kited and killed when engaging an adc in a one on one.

Actually one on one... Nasus does actually have a chance as then there is less CC and his wither is powerful but only single target (which isn't a problem if it is a one on one... though if the ADC have mobility and or QSS nasus might struggle)

mikemcparty1 votes

That shouldn't be the case. A juggernaut or a tank should not be able to kill an adc one on one. That is a lack of balance in the game. There are checks and balances that should hold true.

Champion Skin1 votes

Nasus is at his strongest in 1v1... he is a split pusher and duelist who often struggle in teamfights (because he is pretty much all single target and when he is kited he is pretty much one of the worst tanks in the game)

I don't see the problem with Nasus being able to 1v1 an ADC given that 1v1 and split pushing is pretty much what Nasus does (though in a teamfight Nasus will get destroyed by the ADC because of the rest of the enemy team likely CC'ing Nasus and damaging him if he tries to run at the ADC)

Nasus isn't like other juggernauts like Darius Illaoi who have a lot of AoE (or resets in the case of Darius) allowing them to potentially demolish entire teams rather quickly... while Nasus has to get in melee range and Q...Q...Q each enemy Also Nasus isn't a tank... since his CC/utility is so weak (only having a single target slow) If Nasus gets kited... he is kind of like a bad tank... which soaks some damage but doesn't bring as much CC/initiation power (and his defensive steroids aren't great either)
