Can we change emotes back so they can't be spammed?

"Use your emotes responsibly" is probably THE most naive quote of a Rioter. You can't expect annonymous players, mostly children to not spam a button that can be spammed and makes an annoying noise when done so. It's like giving a kid a big red button that says 'toot' and tell him not to press it too often.

I think emotes are cool, really. But I can't stand the constant noise and flashing visuals it creates when spammed. So please, return the cooldown back to the way it used to OR atleast put a cooldown on the sound that it makes.

I don't want to mass mute everyone's emote because I like to see when someone uses it once after a play (for example thumbs up after a good gank or mastery emote after an outplay).

Once ingame, it's also hard to immediately mute the abuser because you probably have to CS or apply pressure and the button is pretty small (I'm not an ADC main, I suck at clicking small button). If they do it in the fountain, it's easy, but usually they start doing it somewhere in the laning phase.

Then just mute them? Why exactly does it have to be changed because you refuse to change it yourself?

Dr Poro2 votes

Because I still want to see when they give a thumb up for a good play, etc. Also, go ahead yourself and try to mute everyone every game. I don't think you'll keep doing it after 10 games. It's such a drag.

Instead, why wouldn't you tell me the benefits for the game of being able to spam emotes? Is it necessary to keep it this way?

/mute all ???

I knew this answer would come. You can only mute all opponents with the toggle button, not your allies. You have to mute them individually every game.

uhh /mute all mutes everyone... including teammates...

the command in chat

"/mute all"

type that into your next game and hear the players go silent.

EDIT: only thing /mute all doesn't mute is yourself

Personally i find emote add to be useless and not important add that Riot implemented in the game. The goal of the game is to play the game itself. Adding emote was sure to add more bad mannering in the game as we already have with the mastery emote spam... I don't find emote in a game such as League of Legends, required to be there. Now that they are there i can't do much but personally they would remove Emote entirely and i would be happy.

So are skins. The game in general is useless and not important. Whats your point?

Skins is for personal expression and you can't bad manner people when wearing a skin. It doesn't interact with other people other than maybe people find your skin nice . Emote however you can use it to bad manner your opponent or mock them in so many ways. Also it lack of sportmanship and have no real interaction with the game but so does skin but skin are visually attractive.

It appears that you dont own Nunubot or like any of the SG skins

Personally skin taunt or joke are funny to me and if the enemy abuse of it they slow their reaction and are less focused on small details and it feel amazing to destroy them in end of the match with a big and amazing Victory !

You can't BM people as Moo Moo Alistar and spam the bell? THAT'S WORSE THAN ANY EMOTE! (but i love it)

Pretty sure they added emotes just for the $$$.

I guess that too to be honest but again... Skins remain the main source.

Lol "I'm too lazy to mute people so I want Rito to fix it for me"

The density of your comment... I'll explain again: I don't want to mute everyone because I still like to see when someone thumbs up for a good play, etc. It's hard to instantly mute someone once they abuse the emotes (by spamming, which used to be impossible) because you have to focus on the game. It's like saying "lol you hate flamers? just mute them scrub". It's too late when you HAVE TO mute them due to their toxicity. The damage is already caused. If a new way of communication is released, it's not supposed to be so annoying that everyone has to manually mute their teammates every game. If you don't get that, I'm sorry for you.

Spamming laugh is part of some people's playstyles. It's very effective for champs like Singed, Teemo, Lux, and Trundle. They're just not the same without spamming emotes.

Dr Poro1 votes

But they changed those so that the sound doesn't refresh when spamming them. I only suggest the same to happen for the new emotes.

I wish they never did it honestly.

I mute them as soon as someone begins spamming them so...I suppose I'm not their main market.
