Why does Riot THINK rank means anything this season?

Back in Season 4 I believe you added rank queue restrictions, which allowed say gold players to queue with silver or plat only, to create a more fair environment and playing ground for the enemy team so there wasn't a huge skill gap. They removed all of that meaning now some bronze can queue with a diamons and be approximately placed in a gold mmr game, which is still a HUGE disadvantage from the getgo playing vs this diamond player. So let me ask you this Riot, why did you remove such a crucial part of determining self accomplishment? Because you wanted league to be about playing with friends and having fun, isn't that what people used normals for? You can say "oh but we wanted them to have a ranked environment too". You know people can just check what other players rank was the last season so we WILL know if they were bronzethe past two seasons and magically got plat or diamond the next, chances are they are boosted. How are these people going to feel once people look them up and start shaming them for being boosted. You guys just created a whole other problem.

TL;DR I dont want to lane vs a plat or diamond as a silver/gold just because he decided to duo with his bronze buddy.

No they can't. A diamond player can make a smurf account THEN queue with the Bronze using this smurf account (and that was always the case, even back in Season 4), but you can't make a premade with a Bronze and a Diamond account together. It's even stricter than that, Silver can queue with Bronze OR Gold, but if you are Silver and invited a Bronze, you cannot invite a Gold too, and vice-verse: you have to choose which one of the two you really want.

this season is the most accurate ranking system this game has ever had. However the only problem is that its actually too realistic. If you are a socially inept asshole your rank will go down in a team game. That's just reality and people don't like reality as much as they thought they would when they begged for dynamic queue for years under various names.

The only thing dynamicQ has implemented, are unfair terms for solo players!

And dont even dare to go with that team argument again. Understand that a team game can still be a team game even when you dont know the people you team up with.

We begged for many things including draft. We also begged for a way to only have to play exactly 2 roles at most most of the time

And yes, you can have a game where solo players are matched with people they don't know, but that would be unfair to good players who don't want to waste their time trying to climb away from the bottom tiers and its unfair to people who'd actually like to get better. You shouldn't have to be forced to be teamed up with a formal team of 5 just to do a 5 man premade and show that you can function within one. Did you know there are pros who reach the top yet cannot perform competently in a formal team? They do great solo but nobody really cares about the yoloqueue hero so again there's reason not to invest in them as well.

I would like to point out that dynamic queue doesn't help you escape bronze "if you are good enough" or based on individual skill. It helps you escape bronze by queuing with your smurf friends who will carry you out of bronze. Big difference in the opinions of many players.

If your smurf friends are willing to bother with carrying you out of bronze so be it. "you" refers to the collective in a team game or "you and your buddies." finding and maintaining a team is part of any team activity. Your individual skill is irrelevant if it can't translate into organized team play.

Right now, it has way too many parameters to work with to be effective. Removing the chances of 2/3/4 man team and the different constellations, would make this much more effective.

And no, SoloQ is not unfair to everyone, cause everyone are matched at the same terms. Good players in this game, are good at teamwork and good at techincal skills. So, people that want to teamwork, found a way to do just that. However, getting in with a premade is hell, since they will simply ignore you, and do their own thing.

Fun thing is, I have never met a dynmicQ fanboy who is brave enough to say that he agrees. Two Qs would be best for everyone, so that everyone can play as they like. Once the suggestion comes, they are back to crying: "this is a team game, solos are unheard of.. buhuu" Even though they just felt it was unfair two secs ago being forced to something themselves. False, the only way to make it the same terms would be to force everyone to play the same number of games against the same people. That is the only way you can guarantee its actually fair. This would effectively be a form of round robin tournament. You cannot have an effective ELO system or whatever for teams unless you are actually going to have some constant. You cannot test without a control or standard. Under our previous system there were lots of things that could help boost you just like there are now, but now we can control (used in a different context) how we get boosted which removes that as a factor. If someone is willing to boost you so be it but there will now be a glass ceiling for both solo players and booster teams. If you want to test your skill you now have to be part of a team meaning you have to be accepted as part of a team. Nobody goes around talking about the big soloplayer tournaments, we don't emulate solo players, it has always been the teams. This game is about teamplay. Your solo performance does not and cannot accurately determine your play level, only what level you happen to be able to reach for whatever reason. A lot of the people who were escaping bronze with ease were not silvers or gold players, they were plats and diamonds. Meanwhile people who could be silver or gold were being held back and actually getting worse at the game by playing with bronzodians because as I mentioned before, even pro level skills couldn't carry the games. They had to learn new separate styles of play.

TL;DR When getting out of bronze means youre good at bronze not that you belong in silver or higher its time to change your ranking system.

If you aren't willing to maximize your chances for the win, as it stands, it is now your own fault if your team sucks.

There is no hypocrisy. There is a very ugly solution to make solo play viable and nobody has fought for it because it is a ugly solution. When you sign up for yoloqueue you CANNOT PROVE YOU CARRIED YOURSELF!!! I don't care how many times you go 100/0/0 you simply cannot prove it, the system for yoloqueue diminishes your accomplishments. DQ allows you to stop yoloqueueing and build your own team so you can take credit for the accomplishments resulting form the team you decided to build or join. What other players do becomes a reflection of your own decision making and thus you can actually get a better reading of ones skill. The only problem now is that the system is still softassed in rank and matching people based off average skill instead of max skill. If you play with Michael Jordan on your team you should be matched against the Lakers not the junior league yuppies.

Best and most true was ELO System. You won? - you earned some points, you lost?- you lost some points. Not like now. Someone got new rank and may lose 5 matches in row and still is in this rank.

  1. My rank means something to me and I don't really understand what would have changed this (I play solo). Your win rate is likely the same or better having improved your skills, DQ isn't going to change that.
  2. Boosting =/= Dynamic queue. Boosting is CHEATING and was always there. Cheating is another issue entirely.
  3. A diamond player can't party with a Bronze, you're wrong.

300 average ELO difference. And still they flamed me when i told em platinum and silvers where too often mixed. Seemes i was wrong though. Diamonds vs Bronze!
