What if Yasuo had a delay/slight channel time for windwall?

No. I think it should just spawn in front of him instead of on him and then move forward. It would cut some of the power out of it as it would no longer pop spells and stuff about to hit him, but it could still be used re-actively. It would raise the skill level to use it well, as you'd need to be faster, and you could no longer windwall the wrong way and still protect yourself.

A channel or delay would make it completely useless.

The point of the ability is to react to a skillshot that is about to hit you It's a reactive ability, your change would make it a proactive one, which would make it useless since the enemy isn't going to throw spells into it if theres a delay on it

Well, it still stops him from taking projectile damage for ~3-4 seconds, even if it doesn't block anything.

Still useful for negating a mage or ADC's damage in a teamfight.

You're already dead by then. Also if it was a channel the cc it's supposed to block would just stop your channel. It wouldn't completely ruin the point of the ability.

Not if the cast time is like .25 seconds, like a Morg binding or something.

That's completely pointless.

I mean, right now Windwall is instantaneous, so it would slow down his rhythm and make him easier to catch.

It would do literally nothing to anyone who has played Yas more than 10-20 games. It would still be a predictive and reactive ability.

Well, it would mean he has .25 less seconds to predict or react to anything.

If that's all it would do then it would be a shit change.

Exactly.

I would like an indicator to know when it's up. Like Annie's stun.
