PSA: Please try to avoid putting your foot in your mouth

TL;DR at bottom. Note. No one in this game played perfectly. No one. I managed to get kills and some dragon control, but overall I was overwhelmed by Master Yi after he got Bloodrazor and Zed was so fed that I couldn't do much. I could have done better. (Like banned Zed instead of Talon...)

However, we all started to catch up towards the mid game. All except one. One player. Can you guess who it was?

Before they picked it, I very kindly mentioned that MF pretty much was used only as an answer to Zyra and that she probably only really works the best with Ashe. Their words: "Okay thank you. I'll remember that as I'm winning lane." Then of course his laner and the entire room start to laugh and go, "These kids when they watch LCS and think they know everything!" Pretty much the usual thing when you give a suggestion.

Level 1. Barely 2 minutes in. They die with no jungle pressure. They died a lot. With no jungle pressure. Because Yi was fighting, Kennen and Riven in top and mid.

The end result? MF was outdamaged by Sion. Was outwarded by our Kennen, AFTER they bought sightstone mind you. And overall did the worst on our team by far.

This was probably really really embarrassing for them. Especially after all that they said in champ select.

Please guys. If someone gives you a suggestion. Especially when it's in a polite manner. At the very least tell them that you understand and you want to make the play anyway, so that way if you do fall apart and get curbstomped, you won't have to put your foot in your mouth. It will most certainly spare you the embarrassment just in case everything goes to hell.

TL;DR: Take suggestions with a grain of salt. Save acting like a badass until after you're going 10/0.

Okay um. I apologize if this came off as an anti-MF support post. It really wasn't. It was a post mostly about talking a bunch of garbage, who not only don't live up to those words, but fail miserably. I have played MF support once and it didn't work out. But I didn't use it right. I didn't have the right ADC or the right runes and masteries.

If you know how to carry with MF Support, more power to you.

Woo people not listening in LoL ?

Even after you gave them some nice piece of advices ?

I bet it never happened to anyone there.

I gave a 2/5 Fizz advice on how to use his ult, as in start your combo off with his ult due to its dmg amp on his spells. NOT use Fizz ult as an execute.

We still lost. But the guy took my advice and said he'd read up on Fizz's patch notes. Guy finished the game like 12/13.

Where do you find these inhuman beasts to play with?

Just kidding, that looks like a wonderful experience...playing with a real human being and not a troll. Majority of the time, players don't act like human beings that can respect each other. I played against a double AD lane just in my last game and told my Ashe that wouldn't stop feeding to buy some armor. Did she? Nope. No respect for her opponents. I managed to salvage the situation by asking Ahri to swap lanes with Ashe...and we won...but it's interesting how bad players can get wins that they totally don't deserve and then never learn their lesson.

"AP Vayne must work because I (we) won the game"

SanKakU1 votes

Huh? How do you figure? Just because Ahri builds AP doesn't explain why she did well against a double AD lineup. It's just that Ashe was immobile compared to her and quite frankly bad at the game.

I mean that, a bad player can win and get carried by playing a bad build/set up. And because they won, they think their pick/play was good.

As a Support Main, I can tell you that a good Support can use any Champion in the role and do well provided they aren't otherwise hard-countered by their opponents. I use Miss Fortune personally as a counter to Zyra and Malzahar, but also for Soraka and Sona because of her slugging power and how ridiculous item 3123 is on her because she procs it with bloody everything she does.

It's not about the champion. It's about the player in control. If they suck, they just suck.

That's a nice thought, and mostly it holds true. Having said that. You're wrong. Even the most skilled LCS support mains will tell you . It's easier to support with some champs, and it's harder to support with some champs. Just because a pro is good enough to pull a strange support pick off doesn't give trolls the right to do the same because "The Pros did it"

That support MF built and played wrong.

While it is true that some champions are better than others for the role, for you to outright say that I'm wrong only says something about you. I've been in this role for a very, very long time and I've seen just about everything work out at one point or another. I've seen Kassadin work in Support. I've seen Soraka work as an ADC. In the right hands, any champion can fill any role without being a complete disaster. Unless you are of the belief that unless you utterly dominate it was a failure, you can find the ups and downs of any situation.

As long as your locked in the mindset that only specific things work, you will never evolve. You will never grow.

Don't take what I said too seriously, we both know what are each talking about. And I am the kind of player that enjoys to play support picks like Warwick, Darius, Oriana, Ashe, Vi ( Which I have to admit I'm still getting used to, support vi) and things like Heimerdinger.

I like those champs, and I understand how I have to play and build them differently for the role of support. But I like to support and know enough about the role's responsibilities to do so regardless of my champ. Having said all that and believing what I've said, I still go on to say that there is still a clear line between viable and "UU" (Under Used) Because META stands for Most Effective Tactics Available.

As long as it isn't in ranked, or as long as your team is on board with you, you should be ok to support with whom ever you want, so long as you know the role and the champ. But if 2 of your other team mates are against it (1 is ok) or you are in ranked, it's best to play what is most effective.

Most fun is why I play normal blind and draft pick and I've stopped playing in Ranked. I myself like to play full AP MF and make her into an E bot, using her w not for the atk spd steroid but to reset passives and help reposition. It sucks when my e is down and my auto's are weak. But it's gnarly every time my e is up on 45% cdr and I'm knocking 20% chunks off of people's health bars. It's a weird pick. I can make it work/viable in normal enviroment. I know it's not the best way to play MF, nor is it the best champ to support with.

I hope this clarifies my position and my own viewpoint. Thinking, feeling, and knowing are all different things.

I play normals for the same reasons you do. I can totally understand. Being bored of the Meta aside, I like to experiment with what I call "Support Worthy" Champions. To this day, I'm trying to make Kayle work well. Sadly it just doesn't even though her kit would seem to imply otherwise.

I'm fond of MF in Support primary for her passive W speed. Really helps with warding and running away when you get caught in places you shouldn't be. But I almost never make her an AP support outside of taking Frostfang/Eye. After Eye, I'll usually build Static Shiv + Essence Reaver for the 30% CDR and 50% Crit and follow it up with one of the tank killers (Doms/Mortal Reminder if there is a healer and I've already bought Executioners Calling), unless the team is in dire need of specific Support tools.

Some of my fondest memories were unusual lanes requested by friends. Like Kalista/Galio (She called it "Boom Boom Doom") and Thresh/Blitzcrank. I've never been hated on more than the day we were Blitz hooking/Thresh Lanterning people from midlane under our tower just for fun. Doing things that others just aren't expecting is, especially in today's "meta slave" era, often end up working far better than I expect.

My personal favorite "off-meta" Support is Varus. His Q poke is absurd, his E Slow is pretty nasty, and his ultimate is akin to Malzahar's. He just falls off really hard in the Support Role mid to late game unless your team is negligent and you get to clean up minion herds from time to time.

Miss Fortune: Like the above-listed Marksmen, can punish enemies for being squishy nuisances with her superior poking powers.

I made a list of champions that can support and posted it on these boards, but it's barely gotten any attention at all. Does Sion look like a 'squishy nuisance' to you? Does he?
