Any Good Ideas to make Sightstone more appealing?

Everytime I see a Sightstone-Support Discussion on the Boards I understand both sides of the argument.

Sightstone stat wise is probably the worst item in the game with 50% gold Efficency. This means Supports get even less with the tiny amount of gold given to them.

But on the other hand, some "supports" don't even buy one, and your team keeps getting picked off because trinkets may be free, but they can't cover as much as a support with a Sightstone can,

Any good ideas to make this item better without making it abusable competitively?

Their is no argument, anyone who says no to sight stones as a support is someone who legitimately does not understand the values of vision and is not worth your time to debate against. Sight stones is a powerful item with a amazing active that gives decent stats. Enough with the whiny support threads begging for buffs.

Get a blue trinket and play as a team, it's more than enough. Damage items are better than vision, indeed.

How about, maybe.... once per 1-2 minutes, gain a buff similar to the raptor's smite buff that allows you to detect wards, so supports can be more encouraged to clear vision?

Also maybe have it regenerate wards slowly in the field so supports don't have to back to refill their wards and get more behind in level.

I'd personally like an Exp buff for supports, although that might make other lanes (such as junglers taking it)

Part of the way a support can carry a game or when your adc is bad is roaming and ganking and helping other lanes but that puts you way way under-leveled. I have had games where I am six levels behind the mid laner... supports need their ultimates but right now they take sooo long to get it. especially when bot lane is struggling and you aren't getting assists.
