Why is everybody surprised at what's happening?

It couldn't be more evident that the pre-season would be a clusterfuck (it's almost always like that). This game is being transformed into a fast paced team deathmatch. Last season was already a balancing nightmare and it's probably going to be even worse this season. We're at the point where we have so many champions that you change a single stat on an item or a keystone/rune and it shifts the entire balance in favor of other champs that will become OP. There's no way around it. Now with all the base stats changed and the new runes, it's going to be even harder.

They never said anything about changing weak ass towers that get annihilated easily so say hello to more snowbally games (most of the community agrees this is bad). They should rename the game to: League of Action Packed Super Killz. The dragon changes were good, the herald changes were good and surprisingly the plants were also a cool thing but I hope they know where they are going with this.

It seems like Riot is trying so hard to make sure this game stays alive year after year that they forgot what made it the most successful MOBA to begin with.

Change can be good but too much isn't.

I think the removal of runes will make balance easier. They had no control over players picking the right pages and kinda just had to hope folks used smart ones. Bunch of players did 1 size fits all for roles, regardless of matchup ( For example the many games folks just ran MR blues despite the enemy having 0 magic damage, just a wasted 9 runes there.) Removing that power and redistributing it into champions base stats and a compressed mastery system makes it simpler to make changes that apply to all players evenly. For example giving rumble +3 armor now is +3 , old runes it could be +3 or +12 depending on what folks ran. I know folks are gonna bring up new runes.. but lets be real the new runes are just mastery system overhaul (runes is a better visual and a less confusing name as its got no over lap with champion mastery.) The truth is that Runes as we knew them are now gone, and that probably good for the game overall (thou I find myself saddened for losing several off meta build options and off meta positions they enabled.)

They keystone and 2ndary icons are give always on what trees folks spec into and will eventually server as warning signs some ones screwing up on their build, much in the same way goofed keystones tended to signal some one mistakenly took wrong mastery page.

That's just my 2 cents. Riots putting them self pretty far behind in balance now for the long term of better game health. Expect chaos, Trial and error, and for the game to get stabilized over several patches.
