So.. I really don't like the GA changes. All ad characters basically need to be killed twice..

ShadowParker··107 votes·15,118 views

I just played a game where pretty much every ad champion had a ga. We had 3 on my team until one of them sold his and 2 on the other. I'm just not a fan of so many 2nd lives.

Could we hit GA's stats/ or increase the GA cooldown?

What's everyone's opinion on GA right now?

Will be giving some time for things to settle since it's likely that at the very least, people are just trying all the new/changed items out, so their purchase rates will be high even if they aren't optimal. That isn't to say GA necessarily is or isn't too powerful at the moment, but rather how we'll be evaluating it. If we had to make GA less efficient or less attractive after that initial evaluation, that seems reasonable. It's supposed to be an item with tradeoffs.

I still don't understand why the item needs AD? The other AD items like Infinity Edge or BF just got a buff in either gold efficiency or AD

So why give more total AD to champions that really don't need it anymore. Why not just give them some sort of item that prevents complete burst like Sterak?

Anidan7 votes

I imagine because last time they had an item that prevented complete burst like Sterak they got Sterak nerfed because it specifically took away one of their main weaknesses. Unlike Hexdrinker/Maw, Sterak also worked against physical damage, so that's worth remembering.

Tradeoffs? An item with armor, damage, and a second life has tradeoffs?

AlienPrimate31 votes

The tradeoff is that it is 83% gold efficient. Meanwhile, an item like black cleaver is 103% golf efficient without its passives.

EvanThomas35 votes

103% golf efficient

So hitting 70 on a par 72 course?

AlienPrimate27 votes

Exactly. Also while shredding the balls and getting a bonus golf cart with each swing.

Finally, we've discovered Tiger's secret. It was GA all along.

No, we're talking about his club, the black clubber.

You mean this club? http://i.imgur.com/EMZU2U5.jpg Edit: AGH it's too small. Oh well.

I'm green with envy over these golf puns. I'm going to have to putt those on my to-do list.

Putting aside the raw gold efficiency, the slot efficiency of those stats is also terrible. At least theoretically, you have to really value that revive to consider the item worth it.

Elikain4 votes

That's what it was meant for primarily. It's only worth as an item if you really need survivability (passive) and armor + some damage. GA is still a defensive purchase but with a bit of damage to not make it an entirely tank exclusive item. It's not meant for tanks anymore.

You can buy a BF Sword and 2 Cloth Armors for equal AD and Armor, the item is pathetic in those regards.

Completely ignore the third part of my comment for your comment to make sense.

The point is that you're paying for the revive and trash stats. Saying that it's good at all three and has no tradoffs, when it is only good at one and has tradeoffs in being mediocre in the other two, is wrong, and I thought that was the point that I made.

I didn't say it was good at all three. It has 3 garbage stats compounded onto a great passive. All that added together in ONE cheap item has no tradeoffs. I thought you would understand that, but I was wrong.

You can only carry six items in League of Legends, in addition to a single trinket.

I don't understand why AD champions get anti-burst items. AD has item 3155 item 3812 item 3814 item 3026 item 3139 item 3091 . Why do they get so much when they have champions that can do large amounts of AD and be extremely tanky? They get to have extreme armor and penetration while having large amounts of damage (~160 armor/MR and ~160 AD) or go squishy while dealing a larger amount of damage(<100 Armor/MR and 400 AD leading to 800 dmg crits at range).

Meanwhile AP gets item 3001 item 3050 item 3157 to protect them from getting hit by a 700 AD crit from an ADC. Not to mention you either go super squishy AP (400 AP with < 100 Armor/MR) or tanky with little or no AP (200 Armor/MR and < 50 AP).

With AP you either throw a pillow and take 3 boulders or throw a boulder and die in one. With AD you either throw a boulder and take 3 boulders or throw a larger boulder and die in one.

Most bruisers build AD, the only AP bruisers I can think of are Diana Elise and Rumble , and Rumble has mage mechanics in his kit as well.~~ Agree that marksmen have too many ways to defend themselves though. ~~

Just note that Zhonyas is one of the most powerful defensive actives in the game, and the new banshees too is insanely powerful.

Jebron6 votes

In what way do marksman have too many ways to defend themselves?

Mannny5 votes

They don't. They build what AD bruisers build to defend themselves, which makes them have "defensive build paths"

SteelMankind6 votes

Calling item 3091 an AD item is really a stretch.

doiminat0r36001 votes

It increases AS and steals MR. If you attack 5 times in 5 seconds, you steal an extra 25 MR, further protecting you from magic damage.

SteelMankind4 votes

Yes, I know what it does lol. It may improve autoattacking, but calling it an AD item is like calling item 3025 an AD item

doiminat0r36003 votes

What would it be called? A tank item? 99% of tanks wouldn't benefit off of this item.

SteelMankind3 votes

On-hit item probably. You would never call item 3115 an AD item, right?

Sexualsaurus3 votes

wits end is good on champs like teemo, kayle, shen and kog'maw, possibly shyvana. Mainly hybrid or on hit magic damage champs make the best use out of this item.

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

A more hit-based Diana would use it, too.

Jonjo Dan2 votes

The only time I built item 3091 was back when AD / AS TwistedFate was viable.

Mira Arya Enthe3 votes

AP is also getting item 3102 and AP itemization has a lot more HP on it in general.

Also Wit's end... lol

doiminat0r36001 votes

AP has more HP but less armor. AD has HP and MR.

Not to mention the variety of penetration for AD. AD has better and more varied build paths overall IMO.

Wits End also steals MR up to 25. You can take half the AP Assassin's MR in less than 5 seconds. Making them do less to you and more damage to them (40 Magic damage per auto on hit)

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

Wits End is not AD itemization it is on hit and built by like 3 champions regularly about 5 conditionally. Those champions are not AD they are on hit champions.

doiminat0r36001 votes

But on hit does primarily AD. You benefit off this item more if you are AD than if you're tank or AP, which is my point.

It can be considered on-hit but when it comes down to it, what classes are generally on hit? AD.

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

Teemo AD? Kayle AD? Jax AD? Shyvana AD? Udyr AD?

Even these champions only use it conditionally. It is certainly not an AD item not even close. And even for on-hit champions it is a rarity. An item that reduces enemy MR wouldn't be very useful for a champion who does 90% physical damage like an ADC...

doiminat0r36003 votes

Teemo is AP. You hardly ever build Wits end on Teemo. I've never seen a teemo build it before.

Kayle and jax are the only ones I see building it.

Shyvana is AD. What are you talking about her not being AD? She is an AD Tank/Bruiser. Udyr also fit's under this category as well.

I think the dual resistances fit the item better and was balanced.

3TWarrior4 votes

and as people noted, it was useful for all characters

ProfDrDeath8 votes

Which was in fact the problem - GA on tanks was a MAJOR pain in the ass, as you'd essentially need to kill a tank twice.

Wildstyle12 votes

Its not even been out for a day, people are obviously just going to try the new items, give it time and i guarantee the rate at which they're purchased will decrease.

ShadowParker18 votes

The thing is it isnt a new item. Nothing changed on except the stats. People are getting it because it's good, not because they wanna try it.

TurquoiseYoshi21 votes

Orrrrrrrrrrr... people are trying it because it's reworked, or that it now is a viable choice for their champion of choice? I'll be honest, as a Gnar player, I'll probably try it out ASAP just to see how it works out. I don't think it's gonna be particularly good for him, but I'm gonna try it anyway.

That's like saying, "Why are people picking Zac now? He's the same champion except with some different abilities."

Jebron9 votes

"Nothing changed except the things that were dictating who it was viable on, has nothing to do with why they're buying it"

Think about how dumb this statement really sounds.

RainbowIcee3 votes

There's no reason for an AD that's ahead not to get it. Not only does it grant them a second life which in itself is pretty damn strong. It also helps them scale so even at CD the item is giving them benefit which was supposed to be it's downside the long CD.

GoronMuncherV6 votes

Eh, I'd rather have to kill a squishy ad champ twice then kill a tank twice.

Wolfe KuPo5 votes

there are definitely going to be some serious abuse cases for it

I would say LeeSin Yasuo Riven will be the worst offenders

royalpaste3 votes

Darius is horrifying with it. he'll dive your whole team maybe kill a squishy or 2 die then come back and heal him self with q and dive you again. bruisers in general are scary right now with the gage buffs and ad on guardian angel makes then hit harder then they use too.
