Mordekaiser rework

I am a huge fan of Mordekaiser, and I know when the time comes around he will probably get a fairly large update. So I have a few suggestions that would retain his identity while making him up to date. Due to his love of pain, I thought I'd incorporate that into his kit, and adjust some of his other abilities while keeping his signature passive and ultimate mostly the same, and for now, because I can't think of any songs to fit him at the moment I'll stick with his abilities current names. The values are subject to change because with these numbers he would probably be over powered.

Passive: Iron Man (same as before, base absorption is reduced to 30%) except enemy champions who get hit when below 25% health make his shield grow 50% faster (converts 45% of his damage into a shield).

Q: Mace of Spades CD 13/12/11/10/9 seconds Mordekaiser's next basic attack will deal bonus damage equal to 50/75/100/125/150 + 10/15/20/25/30% (+1% per 30 AD) of the target's missing health as bonus magic damage (this is the "pain" aspect, and it still gives him enough base damage)(at max rank it takes someone to be at -77% of their health for it to kill with 0 AD not including the flat damage or MR)

W: Creeping Death CD 14/13/12/11/10 seconds Mordekaiser shoots a slow moving point and click projectile, it deals 20/30/40/50/60 +20% AP damage/second to everything it touches and slowing them by 15% for 2 seconds, once it hits its target it deals 25/50/75/100/125 + 33% of all the damage it did before coming in contact with its target and slowing the target for 33% for 2 seconds. This one is a slightly complicated ability, basically, it's another cloud of metal that travels slower than tarics stun, but its larger (while not as big as his previous creeping death). It travels to a target champion/enemy, and along the way deals damage to everything that it touched on the way, and then nukes the target for damage based on how much it did to the enemies while it was traveling, giving Mordekaiser another "pain" aspect and gives him that cc that he's always wanted. Best if used on a champion on the other side of a creep wave.

E: Siphon of Destruction CD 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 seconds Mordekaiser deals damage to all enemies in a cone dealing 70/100/130/160/190 +40% AP and applies a stack of "Destruction" to the enemies hit, for each stack the damage of Siphon of Desrtuction is increased by 10%, up to 10 stacks, for a maximum of 140/200/260/320/380 + 80% AP, stacks will be removed after 10 seconds of not being hit by Siphon of Destruction. Very similar to before, its still a conical skill shot that deals damage to everything in the AoE. But some tweaks, lower the base damage scaling, range (but increase the width) and increase the CD to 8, but apply a debuff that stacks and amplifies the damage the more its used, up to a cap. Still his main damage tool and is used to whittle down his targets before executing with his Q.

R: Children of the Grave CD 100/90/80 (Same as before)

I wanted to keep his kit as close as it could be without being identical, this Mordekaiser requires to be more up in your face, but with his W he can keep up with people who simply walk away from him. He also requires to play it safe early on, but can play aggressive when his targets are low on health. So I would love all your thoughts and inputs on this "rework" of mordekaiser.

Just turn him into a AP Bruiser already, his gameplay doesn't match his theme at all.

It's how he used to be played. But then idiots were dying to Morde in lane and spammed "MORDE IS OP" threads so they nerfed him.

Meanwhile, Riot's blatantly OP pet champions (Irelia, Zed, Akali, Leblanc, Jinx, Leona, Katarina and Riven) are allowed to roam free and wreck people in complete impunity.

Alistar was a gladiator yet he is a support. Thresh 2v1-ed Senna and Lucian yet he is a support.

Give him a slow on his Q will make him decent once again imo. He is just completely helpless in the face of mobility which is 90% of the game these days, give him a hand there I am sure he is fine that way.

He still has his love of pain vibe, in the form of his ulti which works great on both thematic and gameplay point of view as you watch the hopeless champ dying to DoT and becomes your puppet and you make the enemy team suffer with their deceased buddy. Perfect.

He'll need more than one relatively weak slow to keep from getting kited to hell and back like he does now.

The only thing I could agree with is the Q change.

If you ask me I think his shield needs to decay only outside of combat.

Also, I forgot to mention, he could use some base stat changes too, like maybe a little more hp/5.

Way, way too much missing health damage. 30% is nuts, especially on a 9 second CD.

I would miss the tankyness W gave to Mordekaiser but I find this a nice rework.

His current ulti need to go with a rework. At least the way it works.

Terff1 votes

But its what makes him what he is, its his ulti that defines him, and if I recall correctly they said if he does get a rework his ulti and passive are staying the same because they are his signature abilities

Tengrichan1 votes

If it remains the same then i will worry about the rework.Like how some reworks turned out worse than the previous kit. It can't remain the same because it's binary even though i hate using such buzzwords. If you get a ghost, especially an adc ghost the teamfight is over,if you don't you are quite useless. There is no in between.

Wait. Is that Q stronger than Garen ult? :D
