Why boards?

I started playing league a few months ago, and I believe I joined either right before the forums were removed or right after so I never really used them. However, I use plenty of forums on other websites and I feel that they function much better than the boards. So I'm wondering why you removed the forums in place of the boards. I feel like forums really help a game's community and offer more insight than the boards do. In my opinion forums allow for more precise topic-based discussion which allows for more in-depth discussions. From my impressions things just get lost in the boards, while in forums they are nice, organized and easy to be found. Anyways, those are just my thoughts and I'd love to hear the reasons for removing the forums.

I think they liked the flow of Reddit (which functions like the boards do) and how it worked, so they decided to scrap the forums in favor of the boards. Probably because they spend more time on Reddit than any type of forum, thus made the switch to make it easier for themselves. That's just my opinion though.

Because they felt like it. Because these are new, and the forums aren't.

Having not used League's forums before the switch, or really any forums at all, I am confused what you think the Boards should be doing better. Could you explain it? Additionally, if you can pinpoint what you do not like about them, instead of a general feeling that forums are better, this will better help Riot in their tuning of the Boards system.

(And they really do listen, even if they don't always respond.)

Somewhat true.

Wouldn't say this about our old forums, though.
