I play very little ranked because of the trolls, but I think rising is counter intuitive. You should play almost all your games in ranked. Unless you are trying a character out and don't have his mechanics down, play him. If you lose so what. Most of the people who play LOL either suck, don't give a shit, or are trolling. Gold is actually something to be commended. To make it to gold I can only imagine the amount of trolls you had to endure. That is worth something.
