Does MF need a new passive?

Meddler was talking earlier about how riot wants to buff auto attack focused MF builds (I'm assuming non-lethality builds). This seems like it'd be kind of hard to do with her current passive. Namely the thing makes MF auto attack pattern very weird if you are trying to proc it with every AA. So when you are in a situation where you have to focus a target down it has much less value.

So I'm wondering, what if MF had a passive like Jax's but you get stacks of bonus AD with each auto attack, with stacks lasting up to 7 seconds? That would reward her for autoing more often without the weird minigame that love tap requires.

Or just give her a 3 hit passive that does bonus damage. I think that's pretty standard by now. Love tap: every 3rd hit does 5% of target's max health as physical damage.

I think you're confused on how MFs love tap works, it's bonus damage to a new target she hits until she hits a new target.

No, I understand how it works, I just think that if you want to buff her auto attack playstyle, its current mechanics might be a problem.

Auto attackers basically want to wail on something until it is dead. MF's passive puts its power budget into switching targets. Switching it out for something that rewards focusing a target might be the easiest and most effective way to help that playstyle.

How would that be a problem? If anything is encourages MF to be more proactive in a team fight if she wanted to play around her passive

I really like MF in lane and the reason her passive is made that way is so it's easier to early AA > Q = crit on enemy champion. I don't really think it's her passive that needs a change because it works very well with her Q. I just think it sucks that you rely so heavily on getting a good ult in teamfights.

As nice as it'd be for MF to have more generalist power, there is something to be said for giving champs strengths and weaknesses.

MF's weaker in straight up 1v1, but stronger in situations where she is fighting multiple opponents. The previous change to her passive cemented that status.

Ideally you want to be hitting double ups and scoring double love tap procs through the ricochet.

The way I see it, the attack speed buffs Meddler's talking about would make it easier to switch targets as they dip in and out of your range so you can score more love tap procs between champs in situations where they aren't lined up.

no she does not. no buffs either.

TBH buffs are completely unnecessary. She's doing fine.

It would be nice for her to have a new passive, its just she would need some overall buffs to her base ad which is EXTREMELY low, but is made up by her having her current passive.
