A random thought on Dragon Buffs

I had an idea about Dragons and their buffs. **What if, after dragon spawns, it shifts dragon type once every minute? ** I suggest this because I really don't like RNG in any form and this would effectively remove it. Players could aim for the dragons they want and have 60 seconds to start a fight with the dragon (locking type in unless aggro drops). It should be a fixed rotation Fire, Cloud, Mountain, Ocean but a random dragon start type. There could be some really interesting plays around this as teams could try to force their opponent to take sub-optimal dragons or try to setup getting an optimal dragon they want.

EDIT: Stacks still cap at 3 so if some team has 3 fire dragons forcing a 4th would give them no benefit. This also allows teams to catch up in buffs allowing both teams to get 2 fire dragons if timed correctly.

Thanks go to CTR1 SHIFT N for pointing this out to me.

I agree, the RNG isn't very fit for such a competitive game, but a mechanic like that were added you'd have to consider...

What happens if you're taking drag and it switches? What's the order and how can it be balanced in a way where everyone just goes to drag at 5:00 for the ocean? Riot loves nothing more than some balancing so how would junglers un/able to take drag early be affected?

Food for thought but there is not an easy answer to this

Dragon type locks while fighting it so when you start a fight it stays that type until dead or you lose aggro.

Order is always Fire, Cloud, Mountain, Ocean and stacks still cap at 3 so if some team has 3 fire dragons forcing a 4th would give them no benefit. This also allows teams to catch up in buffs allowing both teams to get 2 fire dragons if timed correctly.

Dragons were always meant to be a team objective early so nothing would really need to change balance wise for junglers persay but with the ability to choose dragons what's to stop people from always getting fire? That was the only balance issue I could come up with.

Not too hard to answer. Thank you for feedback though I added an edit about the max 3 stacks still in effect.
