The title. I'm thinking of getting him, but if all he's relegated to is a barrel-bot, then I don't really see any point in it.
Me, if I do get him, I plan on SupportPlank'ing while using my barrels for that extra push potential. AA tower > AA barrel > AA tower > AA barrel.

they question is what u can offer your adc as a support .. gp has no cc ... gp has only self sustain .. gp is heavy dependend on gold income ... playing him top and mid on a solo lane takes already in this meta to get relevant when they games last only 20-25 mins ...
sitting him bot as support makes no sense .. he will not get any gold at all and his gold from the q denies only farm from your adc ..
so whats your idea behind playing gp as support .. what can he offer and do better than a lulu, nami, thresh, sona, braum, alistar, leona, zyra etc??

especially that the barrels have no mana cost .. so no reason to not spam the barrels on the brushes

I guess his idea is waste his support or enemy adc time in shooting his barrels.
Sona Ping1 votesThe barrels are half of his kit. "Barrel-bot" is a wildly incorrect assessment of him and his play-style but either way, there is not any point in a champion if you insist on not using over half of their kit. It's like playing Karthus but not wanting to be a "Q-bot".

Still, what I more mean is along the lines of "Relegated to one playstyle of a barrel-bot to be viable" since the AP/magic damage from Lich Bane doesn't carry over to the barrels.
Like, I have a distinct feeling that if you're decent enough, APlank is viable, but...

Is basically the only way I play GP
Barrels chunk teams but you still get a lot out of straight q'ing them, and god are you hard to kill with your oranges heal and impossible to peel off with his speed up from barrels + the iceborn slow chase potential.
Standard nuke gp is of course better, but a lot less forgiving. but when isnt it better to knock off 40% of an entire enemies team hp in a single good barrel play (or literally oneshotting a behind adc on a crit + trinity barrel)
