So Poppy has a below 49% winrate in all her positions this patch.

I'm guessing it's still too early to consider buffing her since this was her nerf patch, but if her winrate stays so low across the next patch, can we revert some nerfs?

I can understand the damage nerf (hell I welcome it), but I personally think the range on her E and the removal of her AA reset was a bit much (she doesn't even have much control over the AA. It's not like most other AA resets when you can save it off cooldown. It has to fire as soon as it goes off cooldown). The nerf to her passive range was fine, but the AA reset being gone makes her jungle clears really awkward.

Note to self: Mentioning anything that says Poppy is weak is considered taboo on the boards now.

Yeah sure nerf poppy more. But also nerf fiora and lee sin more while we're at it.

Fiora is fine she's building damage to do damage

If I have to blow flash and every movement ability I have to fail to get away from a non-fed poppy, and I can't fight her head on when fed, and furthermore if I'm somehow outdueling her she disengages, I'd have to say she's broken.

Don't use movement spells when her field is up (except blinks. You can use blinks). Then you'll still have them for an escape when it's down.

Most Poppy's I've seen don't even use it properly. They just do it for a speed boost.

I know about her field. My point is given despite the fact that I avoid using mobility spells in her field.

TL;DR the horrors of 45% cdr poppy with iceborn gauntlet

Fair enough.

Poppy was fine BEFORE the nerfs, now having her in other game modes like ARAM is a death sentence...

Ralanr2 votes

Her damage was kinda high. I just hate the utility gutting.

JayHog19921 votes

I usually just built her tanky with titanic... Worked most of the times and got me to level 4 alongside support Poppy.

Now I'm worried that those nerfs might make it more painful when I pick up jungler again.

Ralanr2 votes

I just built her straight tank (aside from item 3156).

JayHog19921 votes

I only pick Titanic for damage. A tank is nice, but without damages, I might be so easy to play as.

Ralanr1 votes

I just relied on my team for damage. It worked fine enough (that and I use AD runs).

JayHog19921 votes

I guess... Maybe if I built sunfire cape, I wouldn't rely on the titanic since it does almost as much damage being up and close.

I think...

Poppy's fine, she just isn't as strong now

I'm not sure how 47% winrate top with a smaller playerbase is fine. But again, I'm willing to see if this is just because people haven't adapted to her nerfs. If her winrate doesn't do better in the next patch, then I think there is a problem.

MasterSomething1 votes

Yea, I'm on the side that "Poppy needed these nerfs, but is fine now" but I am willing to wait to see whether she shows total weakness or not. Her kit is made for single target lockdown and disengage. It's time people play to reflect that and not play as a Yordle who can 1v5 or some shit.

Ralanr1 votes

I agree she shouldn't 1v5 (I mean, she's a fucking tank after all), but I guess I'm just a bit annoyed that they cut her utility as well as her damage.

Again, I'm willing to wait.

and then meanwhile, in ranked and silver specifically, ekko has about a 57% winrate last I checked..

Ralanr1 votes

...And the point is?

...And the point is?

That she's been nerfed to the point where she wins less than 50% of her games yet nothing has been done about tank Ekko winning 57% of his games. right now to me at least it seems like they are doing a good amount of needing but not necessarily to the right things

Ziovi1 votes

well... the nerfs sure weren't exactly light so they may have overdid it a little... but let's wait a bit and give people more time to get used to her new ranges/damages before concluding she is too weak now

xBushx1 votes

Yeah ker kit is one of those broken kits...that stun percent damage just too many free things and with that Kit she will always see pro play. CC bots ALways see pro play.

Ralanr1 votes

Idk, I haven't seen Sion in pro play recently. And he's a CC monster.

xBushx1 votes

Both his CC's are unreliable in comparison and his Costs for how squishy he is in reality is the reason why.

Not trying to be a dick but the reasons should be clear...Sion could not be played support to the same effect and I see more play from that role then the others.

She is picked almost the same reason why Braum and Thresh are picked.

Ralanr1 votes

Poppy support still confuses the hell out of me. Though judging by her winrate in support, it doesn't seem like she's doing well.

Her jg was hit the worst, and I only play her in the jungle. It honestly is just frustrating.

xBushx1 votes

In Pro play it comes down to chaining CC and she is amazing at that type of Innitiation AND counter Initiation. She just has alot to offer and when played properly the kit is Broken....see Lee Sin lol

Nerf His bases to scale off mana and give him no combat stats and just his bases and he will still crap on you positionally if hes good.

Pierce The Veal1 votes

I'm still seeing huge amounts of poppy. There's no way in hell she's "weak" at the moment.

Poppy players with tons of games near a 60% winrate. And you're calling for buffs.

Ralanr1 votes

Well she is free to play at the moment. That might have something to do with it.

Silver at the moment.

Ralanr1 votes

Ahh. I don't really know what to say, I still think she's weak but I'm not saying she needs her damage back (the Q nerf was justified).

I mean, I'd say she's better off left as a high skill floor champion. Right now her average winrate may be a tad bit low, but it's obvious that people who've played her more than a tiny bit are doing really well with her. Based on the statistics you presented.

I would be happy with increasing her tankiness in exchange for nerfing her dash in some way.

Ralanr1 votes

Considering how her dash was nerfed (cutting the range) I don't think it really needs anymore nerfs.

The range is still pretty long imo.

It's about the range of flash, and she follows you through flash with it. I'd say the range could be nerfed just a little for an ability that also stuns.

There's terrain freaking everywhere. I'd say you're more likely to land the stun than not.

You have missed out on the lesson of Riot balance team. 80% of champions get their time in the sun as acknowledged and intentional OP imbalanced champions.

Riot intentionally does this and have stated so numerous times. They intentionally over buff and over nerf champions to cycle which ones get in the spot light. They claim this is to keep the game fresh, however it is super annoying to people who main a few champs rather than play whatever FOTM meta champs are.

Riot has a wheel of fortune wheel they spin to determine meta. They will frequently nerf a champ, meanwhile buff it's counter, and then buff other items to change the meta around and the champ lays forgotten for a year or so, for some champions this will be only 6 months or so. For some champions they will remain gutted for years and maybe see some small buffs that bring them up to playable level (urgot, even though he still kinda sucks).

How is this a bad thing?

For people who like Poppy (I liked her in the jg) it feels like it.
