On Garen: Minion Damage (& turret damage if it doesnt) SHOULD stop Perseverence Passive

Personally I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. He's pretty tanky, he has a silence and some other decent damage abilities as well as an execution. When I trade with a Garen Top lane who takes a cloth armor, 5 hp pots and an ignite, It's quite difficult to out trade him if he's remotely witty. Simply because if he gets you low enough he can ignore the value of your creeps, potentially zone you and continue to have this massive passive heal. You're basically losing out on trades the majority of the time if you can't all in him before 6, because even if you win that particular trade, he can merely regen back passively.

I think it's a great thing that his passive works excellent late game I truly do especially for tanks now a days, however it's a bit too strong early game in the laning phase. A point in time where 1v1 trades matter quite a lot and even the slightest things such as creep damage can mean life or death.

No it shouldn't, stop being bad.

Edit: Played Fiora against Garen and didn't build a shred of armor. Ah, so you are butthurt you lost (against a counter mind you) and instead of picking a different champion or trying to abuse your 1 and 2 over him, you would rather whine and cry OP, I said it once, will say it again, stop being bad.

Well I did abuse the 1 and 2, making sure to always initiate with Q when I dwindled his creeps and using my W to block his Q which worked 90% of the time. Building more armor may have helped a bit and I'll try that next time. I didnt say it was OP I was just pointing out a feature in the passive I thought heavily contributed to his success. Didnt say I was without error, I didn't even bring up my situation until the post above. I don't mind your harsh criticism, I should have played better and it was a bad game on my part it truly was. Though I feel that the extra benefit of having the passive work through minion aggro is extremely beneficial early game. If you don't agree that's fine.

Well not at all points was I hitting him back as much, due to their being a huge wave since he was pushing quite hard. But once I pushed out the wave until it got to the middle of the lane and continued to hit him it was quite difficult to be able to keep him down. Perhaps I should recall earlier and buy an extra dorans or two, but I felt more often than not that the matchup was severely close only due to me having to respect the presence of his jungler, his 5 pots, ignite, minions and my lack there of equal sustain/ tankyness.

I'll keep at it I suppose but I don't want to default to relying on a jungle gank, since well at the end of the day I should be able to hold my own and secure most of my own advantages in a solo lane, especially top. Any personal tips if you dont seem to be having this issue, quite as bad as I am?

Of course, first off, be willing to play different champions and realize that some champions simply counter other ones. Garen tends to counter Fiora, he is tanky, can do damage as you chase him, and can heavily negate your damage. Play a ranged champion against him like Teemo, Nidalee, or Lulu, and poke him from afar everytime his passive is up.

Sure I'll keep that in mind thanks
