Is this game is so unforgiving for minor lags?

Knight SoIaire ··5 votes·1,498 views

i always had a steady 60ping but recently my internet provider wennt full retard with special offers and there is too many ppl with their internootz in my area so they need to build another hub or something to handle the load

from that time every evening my internet goes from rly fast to rly slow and i lag in lol

the thing is that i have 110 ping all the time yet everthing flashes and the game becomes so madly unresponsive

do other ppl face it too? I am asking since ill have to live with the lags a little bit more (if they wont fix this fast thou im gonna call again and shout at the poor lady since i chose this provider only for the stability)

i got to gold with 192 ping so unless you are plat + i suggest you deal with it -.-

i play with 300ping and its quite stable. if youre having problems under 300 then i suggest changing your internet provider or if you are using a router try directly connecting to your modem

i dunno whats the problem (but im happy its temporary)

probably its the amount of overall data i can send (the mb/s) since my ping is almoust dead on 110ms

sometimes when i use my providers speed test it shows me that i have 0,5 mb/s while i should get a solid 10

Who is the ISP?

Ping does affect how well you play, check the tier chart for ping. I get anywhere from crisp gameplay with minor spikes, to full out lag fests from patch to patch. Never under 105 ping on the east coast though.

Correlation does not equal causation.

True, but it is 100% fact that a lower ping player has an advantage, especially when skillshots are involved. When 2 equally skilled players are against each other, even minor ping differences matter.

Educate yourself on how to fix it and you'll find out everything you need to know buddy. League forums is one of the worst places. But for the sake of being helpful heres some tips.

1: Don't ever under any circumstance use WiFi for gaming

2: Get a non-stock-given-to-you-by-your-isp router

3:Keep cables clean and not broken on the ends/middle of the cord.

4: Ping things with your command prompt and check the speed/hops etc 4.5:go to command prompt type this: IPconfig(spacebar)FlushDns This should clean out any lag on your DNS incase maybe someones trying to ddos you or you think you were ddosed recently. Also the best way to deal with ddos is to simply change Ip(I will explain this momentairly) there are other ways but this is the easiest.

To change an IP your solution is thus: Turn off Router, Turn off Modem, Wait 1 Hour. Turn back on. New IP has been given by ISP for a forced change through manual means.

Note: Resetting IP means you must now go back into router and reset all your open ports with your new personal(private) IP... Yes its a pain but why risk getting DDOSed again?

5: Go play an actual game now and check it out

I play on WiFi and consistently get the same ping as if plugged into my ethernet.

Is that what you tell yourself? Because its wrong. Playing on any line thats under 3mb+ constant connection for you can cause lag espically in player hosted games like USF4. Shall I prove what a smooth connection should look like when you both have a good line?

Here's a game of my younger brother playing with his friend in USF4 using my internet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioCM5EIoYT4

thats how smooth it should all be.

Now note thats even on steams shit servers that sometimes cause random delays. I bought him the computer version because its better than console with low frame delays or none at all between actions. As you can see this is a smooth connection because both have good lines and don't use wifi. Despite their far distance from eachother.

I am not sure what you are even debating here. I have tested my game play on my home WiFi and plugged in and I get the same results. I tested this to determine whether I need to be plugged in, or if I can play throughout my house. I literally have the same game play. To say that I am wrong, is just ignorant of you, because you have no idea.

If this is your brother, I see that it was located in Michigan. Well, that explains a lot. Fuck Michigan and you. Go Bucks!

you didnt test shit. Its worse.

you get 1/10th of your maximum internet bandwith connection even standing directly next to the router.

Thats how bad wifi is. 1/10th

Stop being one of the laggers and buy a cord.

Cheap people ruin online gaming.

I can only take your lack of intelligence as intentional. Stop trolling on the post, please. Consider 3mb, which is your magic number, is more than enough to play this game. I remember playing it on like the 768kb plan. Cheap people don't ruin online gaming, ignorant people like you do.

w/e you say lagger :p enjoy your mothers internet xD

Yep, you only need so much bandwidth to play, and if you're the only one on your WiFi (or pretty close to it), you won't have lag problems. Especially since lag is tied more to latency than bandwidth.

On my WiFi I'm currently getting 21ms to na.leagueoflegends.com (10ms from speedtest.net) and around 22 Mbps aggregate speed from speedtest.net, so I don't know how much more could be asked of me connection-wise.

Really? Because i get 110% of my subscribed internet speed over wi-fi. Same as I do over wired. The ping is ~1 ms higher than wired.

Maybe you should stop being cheap and buy a good router?

You have now joined the dark neglected side of league ; Us East coasters are strong with the lag summoner 14

SexyTaylorSwift1 votes

Uhm, that is actually really good ping for the east coast lol.

DrNova1 votes

I run 60-90 png average no problem. Won a game of ARAM the other day with a constant 650 ping XD

But yeah I've seen worse. 110 isnt that bad, its playable. If your super lagging at 110 ping there are more problems then just your ping
