towers need a serious buff

towers in our game have 2 roles, quite major imo

role 1- defend champions early to mid game ... stabilize the game (early game champs wont win without giving late game champions any chance)

role 2- they stop enemies from simply entering your base and force them to fight yyour teamm or siege them or go for objectives ... basicaly they neforce teamwide strategy

barely any of those is done by turrets atm they can defend you maybe like 6 levels into the game then beware of towerdives

and they cant stop enemies late, one champion needs like ... 1 minute i think to eat your inhib ... starting from the lane turret

The only turrets I feel that need love are the inhib and Nexus turrets. They might stop some split pushers, but the damage is quite... weak. IMO, the damage should be increased.

They actually hurt pretty bad. The chunks are smaller, but they tick fast, and they slow and shred, I believe. Tanky champs can't sit under them for 2 years. More like 1.5

Buffing towers makes games last longer, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Maybe the inhib towers could use a boost, but the outer towers should drop quite readily once you hit mid game.

The outermost turrets are ok. The base turrets need to literally have their damage increased at least threefold. You can tank one of them with a Katarina for God's sake.

yeah you ae kinda right outermost turrets are for early game so they should fall off early and the katarina tanking scenario actualy seems realistic

I honestly have at least one game a week where a Kat will Shunpo in, ult, kill 2-3 people, and Shunpo back out alive even with 2-3 people attacking her and the turret getting at least 3 shots in.

I agree that the towers have these two roles, but I believe the current towers fulfill them well.

A turret is not there to make it impossible for enemy champions to kill you, just much harder. Any CC under an outer turret is incredibly damaging, add a little bit of damage from a champion, and turret diving is a terribly risky proposition. It can done; this is good. We want turret dives; they are fun, for both sides.

Don't want enemy champions running down your lane in a minute late game? Better challenge them. Can't challenge them? Sorry buddy, but you've lost that lane.

The inhib turrets aren't designed to rack up the damage themselves, they're designed to amplify damage done by champions. I like this better than straight damage. (They might be able to use a bit of a boost in the amplifying ratio though.)

i think a good tower buff would be :

tower now have 5% chance to crit. when it crit it deal 5000% additional damage.

This would be a good thing according to riot's look on crits. They say that champs that are behind can still be a threat because, even though their damage is poopy, they have that chance to get a lucky streak and thus turn the tides, so they come back (from pure luck). Therefore, adding small significant crits would be good because they give the shitty tower's damage a random spike and can thus still be a threat, even though they do shit damage.

They're OK against squishies, they just need a little bit of %HP true damage to eat at the tanks a little faster.

Inhib and Nexus turrets need a buff to help lessen the ease of split pushing.

I think we need more champions like Janna who can support the turrets.

Role 2, Singed disagrees.

The only problem with the current tank meta is how insignificant it has rendered the inhibitor and nexus towers.

When a tank can take the laser for 30+ seconds without popping any abilities and still not die, the tower may as well be non-existent. I am fairly convinced that a tank with shields or health regeneration can just 1 v 1 the tower.

The laser turrets didn't even stopped assassins from tower diving a carry, how will it stop a tank with literally 10 times the effective health pool from tower diving with his/her entire team?

Turrets should be buffed to shred resistance and does % health damage in order for them to stay relevant. If this still isn't enough, give them a secondary weaker laser so it can focus multiple targets at once.

Go make a custom game and try to actually tank the Nexus turrets. I did not that long ago as a full build full tank champ (I want to say Zac, but not sure.) I died in about 2.5 seconds. Now that was essentially long enough for my team to take out the enemy resistance and then our minions made it shortly after, so I wouldn't say I couldn't do my job, but the damage from both of them combined is pretty damn impressive - and if you can't get them both on your enemy, that means they either took one and should be rewarded or are out positioning you. Inhib turrets have never melted me like that though, they're probably a bit weak.

Giving them tank shredding damage specifically is just dumb though. Tanking things is what tanks do, why should turrets be impossible to tank? Do damage champs not do more damage to them than tanks do?

Tis a nice day1 votes

While stronger towers may seem nice and all, even minor buffs can lead to significantly longer games for a game that already requires a dedicated 30 minute minimum to play properly.

If games last any longer than they do now, I don't think I'll be able to get one in during lunch breaks anymore :(

two things about towers:

Tier 1 turrets need a straight buff, it´s ridiculous that in a 3+turret vs 4 you have no chance to defend yourself early on if the 4man team doesn´t screw up (e.g. ->http://euw.lolesports.com/eu-lcs/2015/summer/matches/week-1/unicorns-love-vs-fnatic min 29+). Turrets really should be a defensible position early on.

Inhib-turrets need more regen, it should force teams to really commit to closing out the game and not just slowly grinding it out.

Everything else is mostly fine, otherwise the games would get overly prolonged.

IMO Tier 1 towers are fine, Tier 2 should have a larger shield, inhib towers need more hp and a slight buff on the laser base damage. Nexus towers need more hp.

Laughing Fish1 votes

Outer and Inner turrets are fine imo. Inhibitor/Nexus turrets need a damage buff. They are far too easy to shrug off as a tank.

BastionKross1 votes

The first and second towers do a pretty decent job of protecting you early/mid game. The base and inhibitor turrets might as well shoot tickle cannons for all the good they do late game. By then, tanks and bruisers are strong enough to have that tower zap them for 6 seconds, then waltz away.

PerishSoftly1 votes

Now just imagine if Thornmail reflected damage to towers. The tower might have killed itself.

Fórsa1 votes

Totally disagree. Only inhib turrets need buff. MAYBE. Personally i don't want longer games.
