@RiotRepertoir Any Chance Yas Could Receive Some QoL Buffs For Q?

(This is a bit similar to what I had going on in my old post that I since then have deleted since I realized I got off track with the real point(and missed a r in your name, I do apologize.) (Do hope Ren's being looked at although.) Hello Again, I have deleted my old post and remade the post, however, I have made it one topic, and have fixed my focus to the real issue. The real issue i'd like to talk about is Yasuo's Q, and the fact not only is it a ability, but also an auto attack. And about his attack speed issue. Anyway, let's get right into it with the attack speed issue.

So as much as Yasuo holds a somewhat good winrate, I do feel like his playrate is suffering as time goes on, and I believe this is in part due to some changes back then. As mentioned in my deleted old post, Yasuo lost the attack speed runepage he would usually run to make up for the lack of base attack speed he had to have Q up more often. However, with the new rune system, the issue is that his Q level one is almost 3.5 seconds if you run defensive, or 3 seconds even with Domination. Less than I expected from a personal view going forward. I do feel like his Q cd attack speed scaling could increase to fix this without touching his base attack speed or any of the paths (But that has been done already, and they sit perfectly balanced where they are at now), unless that is the direction to go.

The other issue was the change (or bugfix) where Yasuo's Q can be stopped by crowd control. Sure, it counts as a basic attack, but at the end of the day, it's an ability he relies on for damage. I was hoping this would have been addressed long ago, but I was wrong. So, is there any chance it could go back to acting like a spell, where if he gets it off before he's cced, the damage counts (Implied towards his first and second Q)?

Sure, Conqueror is coming out next patch, but all it is at the end of the day is a new damage keystone. It doesn't address these two issues which holds him back. Both Moe (aka Yassuo, one of the most popular Yasuo streamers) and Tempest (Rank 1 Yasuo player last year) have come out publicly about him being weak at the moment. No one has a clue if Conqueror is going to be the saving grace for the champ, I personally believe it wont long run. Yasuo's winrate numbers are quite deceiving. Most of the success is Plat and lower, and the higher up plat and onward you go, the less and less effective he is. He's forced to have a special comp to work around him, and in high elo, no one likes taking those chances due to execution.

In the end all i'm asking is for some quality of life buffs, they might raise his winrate or not (i'm not a wizard, nor do I want him to go back into a busted state where he'd need to be nerfed into the ground), but all I know is that the champ would be in a better spot if these two issues were to be addressed. Is that possible Repertoir? I'd love to discuss further if some QoL are possible for the fabled wanderer. Thank you if you read this and sorry I didn't have it nailed down in the previous post.

Best Regards, Balterein

I love how anytime anyone brings up Yasuo buffs, the rioters are silent. Mention nerfing him and they all bandwagon.

but mention buff's for broken lux who plays super safe and is super rewarded and yeah they will think about buffs.

I wouldn't go as far to say useless, i'd say looking in the wrong direction in terms with Yasuo. Yas' Q stack duration is 6 seconds, and his early game Q takes (With the common runepage) 4 seconds to be off cooldown, making it that he can only cast Q twice in the early game to get his nado. So if you miss by a pixel, good luck.

But what's annoying is people downvoting, and being silent and shady af. But even more than that, the forced build. You have to get 100% crit just to make full use of your ult, and even then, makes you miss out on lifesteal and other damage items you could have gone otherwise. Why? Because Frozen Force was too overpowered. I just tried the build now, and it legit does nothing anymore, and even if it got the 50% bonus armor pen, I don't think it would have the same damage output as the old one. His attack speed scaling on Q is atrocious atm. Why? Because they decided that Yas would be fine with getting 5%+9%+3% attack speed at level 1. That totals out to 17% attack speed (the 3% is if going Legend: Alacrity). We had for our old rune pages 28.8% attack speed, putting our Q on a 2 second cooldown and giving us a good defending and trading tool. Now you have to legit be absolutely passive and farm unless you get a gank, which wont be a kill depending on the situation.

The current nerfs he has gave him a somewhat good laning phase and made him less oppressive at the time they were issued. Now, that somewhat good laning phase is gone which weakens everything later on from early lane along with it. He can get outtraded more than he can trade by having that sluggish Q cd (which affects the cast speed) from having a deficiency in attack speed. I wouldn't mind if they replaced his crit passive with letting us have more attack speed, but at the cost of damage from autos (which would affect Q). So...for bonus attack speed, our autos do 10% or 15% less damage. Then when ulting, that penalty is halved or something (meaning the crit only buff gets reverted back to every attack gets the buff).

The purpose of the post was to try and see if I could learn why they've tried to not do anything for him after the rune system switch and PTA nerf (which in turn made the rune balanced, mind you). I know that Conqueror is coming out, but that doesn't solve the issues I listed above. I even asked in the post if we could talk about it. The suggested buffs are placeholders for talks, but no talks are happening, and it's frustrating to know that.

I also would like to hear from the people downvoting their reason for doing so. Every balance suggestion has two sides, and having one side being vocal while the other one is being dead silent doesn't help strive to meet a middle ground.

  1. I downvoted despite being a Yasuo main these past two season, and am looking forward to going back to Yasuo once Conq comes out. Still consider myself a Yasuo main at heart.

  2. Yasuo received a few buffs pre-season. He's arguably in a better state now than he was a few months back, albeit still with a sub 50% winrate in both OP.GG and Lolalytics. At least he didn't get down to 45% again. PtA, while yes it got nerfed, also recently saw an early game buff (4% damage amp to 8%).

  3. Conqueror, as you mentioned, is coming out soon. I'd personally rather wait and see the effect of this rune on Yasuo's winrate. Meddler has very recently also mentioned that the team's looking into moving more power into "Solo carry" and away from "Team carry" (read: bot lane carry). Solo carry is an attitude and mentality that is infamously prevalent throughout all Yasuo players. I dare say I'd rather wait for those changes too even after Conq is released before talking about direct buffs. ALTHOUGH, it could be that crit items are under the possibility of seeing nerfs with the anticipated stripping power from bot lane and jungle. I can't be too certain about PD with the current SS + RFC being the largest source of Zeal item complaints, but IE has a high chance of getting hit.

  4. The current meta does nothing in his favor. Safety is paramount right now in the game, and Yasuo is a highly aggressive laner that always looks for a fight. Him being mid deprives you from a AP champion, and Top is currently dominated by champions that range from hard counters to skill-matchups against his favor, and is too long of a lane to rune away from. The current jungler dominance discourages Yasuo, and that too has been said is a target of the Balance team.

  5. Yasuo high elo has always been subpar compared to meta picks, even with a lot of well known high elo Yasuo mains and even before now in his current state. In higher levels of play, teams know how to deal with Yasuo, and can swiftly shut him down.

  6. It seems players are hellbent towards playing Yasuo with a Domination secondary page. I say that's stupid. The defensive power of Resolve or the perk of having 18% Attack speed and extra gold value from Inspiration secondary is too good to pass up compared to "extra damage," at least in the context of needing to survive in lane in a meta that punishes overly aggressive play. Then again, what do I know, I'm just a high silver scrub.

  7. The nerfs Yasuo saw to his Q early season 7 were and still are completely justified. Yasuo was needlessly more oppressive than he already was being able to hold his Q for such a long period of time. Further more, he wasn't punished for missing a Q2 back when he held stacks for 8 seconds, because even in at the start lane, he got another chance for a Q2 with a sub 4 second CD right of the bat thanks to runes. Missing your Qs, regardless of whether is Q1, Q2, or even Q3, is supposed to feel shitty. I can't say I've not been fazed by the added "clunkiness" even to this day a year after the fact, but I am still going to defend the intention of the nerf. If Yasuo can get below 3 seccond CD on his Q early on, this will undo part of what those nerfs back then were meant to do.

  8. While not immediately like what old Runes and Masteries did, going Precision and the Attack Speed option on the Legend row will eventually give Yasuo similar AS (more in Inspiration Secondary's case). Simply from farming.

  9. If I remember correctly, Yasuo's Q3 (tornado) is a small channel. I'm think that Q1 and Q2 too are, but I'm positive about Q3. Guess what? Channels are interrupted by CC. This channel is arguably negligable in most levels of play, and building attack speed lessens the channel time. All is in order.

  10. You seem a bit annoyed about Yasuo being forced to build crit. And I can't help but think how naive that is (sorry). The fact that Yasuo has to build crit, and that he gets 100% from two items, much to the chagrin of his haters and apparently people like you, is one of his biggest balancing levers. With the current kit Yasuo has now, he should never, ever build something the likes of Frozen Force or a similar common bruiser build. And lets be honest, the fact that he doesn't have to build a third crit item like a lot of the Yasuo hate circle jerk want to happen in itself is a gift. You are right, Yasuo needs some lifesteal or a similar defensive option, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he shouldn't be not forced to build crit so Frozen Force 2 can happen. He has an extra slot for defense where ranged ADCs do not. That is good enough in my eyes.

  11. Like it or not, talks of Yasuo buffs will always be met with at the least hesitation and at the most active hate. Yasuo, despite being currently subpar even in the hands of high elo mains (55% average in plat+) currently rocks a ~25% banrate. Roughly one in every four games. For a champion that is arguably not worth the ban from a logistics standpoint. That's how much people hate playing against the Wind Samurai. Yasuo needs some kit changes, even if a lot of what people suggest on the boards is sheer stupidity, fed by their hatred of Yasuo (looking at a certain person's suggestion to change Yasuo's dash from enemy only to ally minions only. Fuck not being able to name on the Boards. Oh, and people crying about ultimates being negated). I personally have some ideas, but haven't had the motivation to post it on the boards.

God that took forever, hopefully I didn't mess up somewhere /shrug.

Edit: FUCKING FORMATTING. Eh, screw it.

I would love to hear those ideas if you are willing to tell.
