Cassiopeia and the changed Masteries

Back when she was reworked, Cass' passive was changed to give her CdR. Initially, it was 30%, but then the value was lowered to 25% to account for the 5% CdR mastery in the offensive tree.

Now that the masteries no longer contain 5% CdR (that are not raising the CdR cap at the same time), can Cass' passive be raised to 30% again?

Cass doesn't want Morellonomicon though, she needs Tear or RoA for the mana pool. If you're forced to waste a slot on Morellonomicon you sacrifice the opportunity to pick up much stronger items, i.e. abyssal, zhonya, luden's, rylai, void, deathcap, heck even WotA. The only time Cass even considers Morellonomicon right now is when she really needs the grievous wounds to counter a sustain champion.

I agree that Cass' passive should just give 30% cdr again. 25% is an awkward number with the loss of CDR from sorcery.

Personally, i always either get item 3165 or item 3174 on her. Bacause one is offencive, and the other one is defencive. so it depends on who im fighting. usually the grail tho, because of the mana reset on kill/assist

For me, I don't usually buy those stuff on her because Cass doesn't need CDR to begin with. She might need it for more Qs and ults but her E has a reset to .5 seconds. I would suggest building Tanky Ap items on her like CASRI's list of items above.

Not really, I just neglected to mention it because I don't think it's that good on her now.

Liandry's is okay, but not nearly as good as it was pre-rework. This is because the purpose of Cassio's Q and W isn't to deal damage anymore, but to enable her to spam Twin Fang. Twin fang spam is good at killing tanks regardless of whether you have Liandry's or not because it deals a ton of dps, each Twin Fang will reset the Liandry's proc, so you won't get that much damage out of it until your final E where the dot is allowed to run for its full duration (by which time the enemy is probably dead).

The only time I consider Liandry's these days is when I'm dealing with 3+ full tanks. Otherwise it's better to invest in something cheaper/more useful.

Assuming you builditem 3020item 3040item 3089item 3135 as your core every game (which you should), you don't really want to be buying Liandry's unless you really have to, there are better options. item 3001item 3285item 3116item 3157 - all of these do a lot more for you than item 3151 unless the enemy team has a massively tanky frontline.

Cassiopeia is utterly trash now and it's a shame for such a fun champion. she has so many issues that I really can't see riot fixing her any time soon. A low range mage with zero mobility and squishy as fuck that comes online 40+ minutes into the game is never going to be relevant, certainly not in this meta

I actually feel Cass has a really good early honestly. She has great potential as a lane bully in most matchups. She has am unreal amount of damage provided you hit your q, so she can win all-ins pretty easily and has the ability to zone very well to deny CS.

Her early game would be okay, except for the fact that trading leaves you incredibly mana-starved. After one QEEE combo, your mana pool is at half. You're forced in lane to last hit with E (putting it on cooldown) fairly often for some very meagre mana restoration.

After first back, you probably bought a Tear and boots, or Tear and another doran's ring. Your enemy laner probably bought some combat stats - a Fiendish Codex, 2x Doran's + amp tome, Pickaxe + longsword, Chalice (better mana sustain + trades vs Cass), or whatever. They are stronger than you after first back because their kit does not necessitate increasing their mana pool, or if it does, it also comes with damage (Ryze/Kassadin R), or their base damage is so good that it doesn't require immediate acquisition of damage (Anivia).

Her old passive solved this problem 'After casting a spell, any subsequent spellcasts will cost 10% less for 5 seconds. This ability stacks up to 5 times.' along with the fact that she wasn't nearly as dependent on Twin Fang for damage as she is now.

It might be better to lower it to 20% so she can get Morello. Otherwise you get punished for building grievous wounds vs regen/lifesteal comps. In that case, she should get some other buff to her stacking mechanic to make up for the additional loss of CDR.

Or you could just get morello and not worry about the wasted 5% cdr?

Yes, please make it happen. At least it'd finally give them a reason to TOUCH her after all the ongoing negligence she has endured so far. I'm still waiting for the second rework, though. Please don't disappoint me again, Riot.
