Why is adc’s at top so popular all of a sudden?
Seriously I’m seeing it so much that I pretty much dodge a good portion of the time, why is this a thing now?

always has been, range is just the answer to agro melees like darius.. quinn, cass, and kennen have been deemed the standard for that but people just play anything at this point
idk, but I don't mind it. Sick of seeing the same shit in lanes every game cuz META. Fuck the meta. It's a game, there is NO reason you should have to adhere to one style of play just because that's what is deemed most effective, ESPECIALLY considering the meta is only evolved around taking objectives like dragon and baron, which half of the time your team ignores anyways.
well glitchy, people can play any champion in any lane they want. there is no rule that says you need to pick Sion top or whatever. Originally people played 2 top, 1 mid, 2 bottom most of the time, and then people would roam Jungle when they felt like making plays. that meta gradually evolved into what we know now because people discovered powerful team strategies around having a dedicated JG. the point is its a game, people can play anything as long as they arent griefing. my 5 man pre-made crew runs Duo-Top most of the time and we win more than we lose because we have a strategy and adapt. some matches we have 2 mid or 2 JG and control the enemy by forcing them to respond in kind. the game does not require you to rigidly obey the meta, and in fact rewards you for ignoring the meta a lot.
also Ive forwarded your admition of dodging to RIOT in an email, so that perhaps you'll get some karma for wasting everyones time in your games you fail to play.
Because there are a lot of melee champions played top, and they typically have a hard time facing ranged champions unless they know the matchup well. Even then it's usually about 10 minutes of giving up CS and trying not to get dove before they finally come online and are able to fight, but only if they don't die too much before then.
Hopefully that actually explains it instead of being weirdly defensive like you were saying it's a bad thing and not just asking a simple question.
(Looks at the rest of the thread meaningfully)
