Why isn't everyone building Nashor's Tooth now?

Nashor's grants a whopping 120 AP if you have Transcendence and maxed out CDR. I'm just curious if more people are building it now as a result. That means that, just from it's own bonuses, Nashor's on-hit damage (15+15% ap) does 33 damage/hit.

Now let's take a full-build Veigar at 30 minutes:

60% CDR, 500 ap from items 20% CDR, 158 ap from masteries (transcendence, gathering storm, eyeball collection, CDR/lvl) 50 AP from flask 300 AP from stacks

So your flat base AP is currently 1008 * 1.4 = 1411 AP total

A simple Rocket Belt, Q, AA will do:

1076 (Q) + 95 (AA) + 15(nash) + 211 (nash) + 71 (lich) + 705 (lich) + 100 (luden's) + 141 (luden's) + 150 (belt) + 352 (belt) + 25 True (elixir) = 2941 damage

I would build Spellbinder that gives the same AP when you count transcendence ( 20% CDR = 40AP), 10% movement passive, costs 100 gold less and gives 80AP (add +40% from Deathcap!) and 50% movement speed as active compared to on-hit damage from Nashor.

(And attack speed from Nashor is a gold sink with terrible build path)

Not to mention that you sacrifice defensive items with armor or magic resist while being a easy prey.

That's a lot of damage...that's also like 18k gold. That's the main issue, although far be it from me to stop someone innovating in a humdrum season such as this one.

Yeah..... Veigar doesn't get many opportunities to auto attack.

There's an argument for Evelynn to use Nashors, or even Morgana in certain roles, but Veigar rarely hits walls accurately enough to give him windows to auto attack.

What Veigar needs is this: item 3030 item 3089 item 3135 , every pure AP item beyond that is nothing but a wasted slot. You either go for more utility or durability. item 3157 item 3001 item 3905 item 3102

And similar reasons apply for pretty much every other mage, you need to be usefull ASAP with highly cost efficient items to have a say in the games result. Spending 3000Gold for nothing but 120AP is BY NO MEANS cost efficient!
