Why does Gnar's ult have such low damage?

The base damage itself is pretty standard with most ults and there are still plenty with even higher damage, but to add to this it has a pathetic 20% bonus AD scaling and for some odd reason, a 50% Ap scaling.

Well its an aoe knock back/slow or stun and it has 300-600 base damage if you use it properly.

rioters said the reason theyre adding ap scalings to champions who are not expected to build it, is to make baron buff a bit more impactful on them.

there is also the natural talent mastery that would be mostly worthless on every champ who doesnt have full hybrid scalings.

That's very interesting, I didn't know that.

except on Illaoi which would of been entertaining.

i already have fun games where i build AP TANK with rylais and watch everyone get slowed. or when i zhonyas before ulting.

yea. the ekko i played against didnt appreciate it at all. while i dont use the AP, the HP and utility was still usable and has made several interesting games.

Gnar's ult is more meant to CC people than hurt them. Plus the base damage is pretty good.
