I thought it was okay if I left them three shrines, but if I do that I get bombarded with "Assist me" pings, followed by "Missing" pings So, I guess leaving shrines doesn't matter? But if I can never leave my adc, then how do I get them?
Depends on your adc. When you leave they should know to play safe. It helps when theyre playing a safe adc and the enemy lane doesnt have too much kill pressure like blitz.
Some adcs will bitch no matter what if you leave them alone
typically i would say collect near by why warding near lane/objectives
collect during backs or walking back to lanes.
it also depends on where the lane/wave is on the map, do you know where the their jungler is? their mid laner? do you know who has lane priority ? what side is your jungler on? is your mid laner playing towards top or bot lane in their lane? is the mid lane/jungle/river towards bot lane warded ?
there is alot of things that have to consider when is an effective time and safe time to roam. this isnt just for bard's chimes, but roaming from support in general.
when your oom and theyre are 2-3 very close. Ping mana, make shure teammate wont die instantly if you move away, ping caution if that's the case then ping manna.
Its some times better to just back and spend gold. early support upgrades make for faster vision.

as bard it is always ok to leave your adc.
ADC dont have idea how Bard works~ most of the time. You have to explain everytime...
