Okay... I built 5 AS items and Koggie still wasn't firing 5 shots per second?

item 3124 item 3006 item 3153 item 3085 item 3091 (This was in ARAM)

Maybe his base 0.625 AS is a bit too low with all the useful AS items now leaning toward crit. Isn't he supposed to be the on-hit proc ADC? So why does he not scale super-hard with AS?

Koggie's got enough trouble on his plate, but making him not hit that high-point without going 6 AS items? That's just cruel.

its because you didnt build enough runaans, that's the best kog'maw strats

Not hitting the absolute cap is a long ways off from not scaling super-hard. With those 5 items all but the tankiest champs completely melt (although sorc boots might be more dps) in seconds, and then you're in the position to either go full glass cannon for a 6th offensive item (potentially then hitting the AS cap [although I think IE at that point probably is better dps than more AS]), or the saner defensive 6th item approach.

Besides the fact that hitting caps exactly is hard (and so 'wasted' stats becomes a concern), having the temptation to go all in on AS is probably the right place to be by design, instead of capping out at 5 items and then not really needing to put as much thought into the decision to build a defensive item.

item 3124 is not an attack speed item. [zombie-brand-clap]

It gives you AS as you get stacks, yes it is.

But it takes more time to ramp up when on a ranged attacker. Melee users get 2 stacks per auto, while ranged users get 1 stack per auto.

Which, Kog'maw stacks twice as fast, because of his AS buff.

Void Nargacuga1 votes

That I can agree with though since the stat boost on his Bio Arcane Barrage is there.

But a single stack only grants: +8% attack speed, +3 attack damage and +4 ability power for 5 seconds, stacking up to 8 times, granting a total of +64% attack speed, +24 attack damage and +32 ability power.

Which is still more AS then a Zeal item gives. Gusinoo's is an AS item.

When has that ever determined whether or not something is an attack speed item? Does it give you attack speed in any way, shape, or form that is easily accessible? It's an attack speed item

Yes it is an attack speed item. But without the stacks it doesn't give any attack speed stats. That is all I am saying, I am not disagreeing with you though.

I literally just played a game against a Kog'maw jungle on the rift.

With only Sated devourer, Nashor's tooth, and Wit's End, he was able to 100-0 me (as Quinn ADC) in about 0.75 seconds, repeatedly. Even using my E to jump away when he flashed on me didn't create the distance fast enough to avoid damage. Even using my Q to blind him didn't stop the onslaught (I guess he got 5-6 autos off after the blind was fired before he lost vision of me... 2-3 after the blind hit him).

Yes, he has to stand still and can get killed pretty easily, but it was still unreal how much damage he did so quickly...

Considering that he'll be shredding your MR, his on-hit procs are expected with that setup to essentially do true damage to a Quinn.

ValyrianBlade2 votes

I understand that. My point was he hadn't built all that much attack speed and yet he was attacking incredibly quickly - too fast for me to react in any way to the onslaught (only once my shen or aatrox started diving him when he engaged did I manage to start surviving).
