I like how people want Damage Nerfs on a Burst Mages like "Neeko"

Burst Mages are mages with insane Burst, Neeko Burst is actually in par with most burst mages. The weakest one being Lissandra because of her low base damage and Ratio. Heck I won't even consider Lissandra a burst mage with how she stands right now. Neeko is pretty much between Annie-Lux with a Veigar Level of burst.

480 (+ 90% AP)+220 (+ 40% AP)+650 (+ 130% AP)+170 (+ 60% AP)= 1520(+ 320%) And to be able to dish out all of these damage you have to take into account she has to hit the full duration of her Q + being in melee range for her R. She is relatively squishy if she goes for the full damage build. But I think she is pretty balanced for a burst mage, since of the damage can be dodged. I personally think most burst mage needs their damage buffed, alot of them are relatively risky especially into an assassins mid.

Personally I don't have any issues with her damage. I have an issue with how much utility she brings to the board WHILE doing as much damage as she does.

She has the best of all the mage worlds, and does quite a lot of them BETTER than the mages who shine in those areas.

My argument is simple:

Tone down the damage, or tone down the utility.

A burst mage does not have the utility she provides.

Neeko should be balanced as a control mage.

And none of those compare to an amumu ultimate that is likely to one shot your entire team. Syndra is a well designed burst mage in that regard.

I never had a problem facing Neeko as I have played her before, and I kinda melt her since I know her skillset.

As with any new champion, people aren't familiar with them and they end up making mistakes, new champ gets fed, and "omg so op riot pls nerf"

Mages being killed by assasins is normal as it's their job to kill you early game, and they scale poorly. While I agree that Neeko's damage is reasonable, mages should not have their damage buffed as that would make the balance of adcs and mages less meaningful as people should generally build more armor than magic resist due to adcs having more raw damage. Mages are supposed to do less damage overall than adcs, but have some sort of utility (e.g stuns) as well as deal a different damage type (magic damage) so that people don't just stack armor.

A balanced change to increase mage strength would be to tune down the magic resist given by merc treads since it's magic resist is quite high considering it's tenacity passive, which means champions have to opt into around two defensive magic resist items to remove the threat of being bursted by a veigar.

And no, Neeko is an utility mage, not a burst mage.
