Whenever people make comments like this, it just makes me think they've never worked for a company before.
Not everyone who works for a game company is involved in game design. Not everyone who works for an Internet-based company works on the network. The vast majority of employees are not game coders, balancers, or sysadmins.
Right, self entitled children who have no clue of the real world, if 2000 is correct, some will be janitors, receptionists, facility maintenance, human resources, treasurers, potentially cafeteria workers or even day car attendants. Since I'm not an employee I don't know where there man power is but I have a hell of a lot better idea than the whiney babies on this forum

I checked wikipedia, if it was to be believed Riot has about 1000 employee instead of 2000, still large number though.
Let's just assume that the people who are actually developing the game is only 1/5 of the supposed 1000 employee count, which is highly ridiculous but hey let's roll with it, even with that it's still 200 we're talking about here.
How much can 200 men do if they can put their hearts into it?
Well just a few examples, Dust: An Elysian Tail, except musics, voice acting and all that, it was single-handedly designed and programmed by 1 dude alone. Aquaria was made by 2. Torchlight made by Runic Games consists of like 25 people in total. And the legendary game company by the name of From Software has the total employee count of around 230.
While OP might be exaggerating the issue a little bit, but let's be frank, there is just too many people in Riot sitting around doing nothing really.
Too many people are in the marketing and "balance" department just sitting around shatting out useless ideas, that's why.
EDIT: Not sure if the 2000 employee count is actually correct though, it sounds too much imo.

company size : 1001-5000employee https://fr.linkedin.com/company/riot-games
according to wiki riot had already 1000employee in 2013, and they hired a lot since then.

Oh I went by the wikipedia's stats which it only recorded 1000. Tbh I won't say it's accurate to assume that they have 2000 by now but even then, 1000 people is still a huge, huge ton we're talking about here.
Although I don't usually support companies cutting their staffs because I have a soft spot for the idea of kicking people out of job and all that, but really, Riot has way too many employees for their own good.
Well, let's see...
Marketing Administration Gameplay (there's like four teams that do different things) devs UI people Server people Client people Sound people Artists Esports people ...
Facility maintenance people human resources people player behavior people interns website people social media people .... We could go on for days on this OP
Calling it a big enterprise is so wrong.... A game company that's relatively new, and only has one game they work on...yeah that's real big alright. I appreciate riots work and you should too. Also go get a damn job
