The MMR system doesn't think I deserve to progress through Gold 3

I'm getting -21 LP per loss and like +14 per win. I understand the basics of the system; it ties a hand behind your back to check your skill level. How many games do I have to win before it realizes I belong higher and to catch up? What's jarring is that I got to Gold 3 recently and suddenly started seeing worse and worse losses in LP per single game even though over all I'm winning more games, I break just shy of even.

With over A THOUSAND games at a 49% winrate, I don't think anything or anyone would say you belong higher.

Don't worry about the LP/Rank, all that will disappear when season 10 ranked begins. All that matters is improving as a player, and upping your MMR. Just ignore the LP gains and losses.

Here is an easy rule of thumb. If your Match average is lower then your Rank your LP gains are slanted. If your match average is higher then your Rank your gains are slanted.

The logic is really easy to understand when you break it down. A Rank has no meaning if its not tied to MMR. You could see how a Rank was a range of MMR back in season 2. Every 70 points = 1 Division. So 1200-1270 would be Rank X and Division Y for every player with that score. Riot then separated Ranks to be different rates of change to protect Egos. LP is Slanted so that if your at 1200-1270 Range and start to average out as a 50% wr then the LP slant for if your above or below it helps move you into the Rank representing your MMR range.

So a win streak requires you to gain enough MMR to hit that range before the slant stops or later inverts. As your history is g3 g4 g4 s1 g4 g4 g3 g4 g4 g4 You still have a little ways to go.

Right now with Winter Break in effect gold is really terrible to play through, on this very account i got to p4 in under 100 games when i'd never done it before a few months back, and on another account i skipped from g4 to g2 right before the break, played since monday and have only won 3 out of the last 18 games when i've verifiably stomped through this elo before many times.

Just wait out winter vacation or expect to have every game be completely random
