Does Akali need a rework?

I've heard someone refer to her as a "Dota champion". Probably means that she has a bit of everything or something. Personally I think something is wrong when (I'm a dirty B5 so grain of salt here) she's either banned a lot or picked. So how do you rework her?

I believe Riot did well in changing her W into giving her movement speed. She's a ninja assassin. I believe her kit is supposed to be similar to Zed's since in lore she was his student or something. Personally, and I think it's more of a pet peeve than anything, I don't know why her passive exists. A majority of Akali's I see build her AP. I'm not sure why an AD option exists.

What else should be done to her?

In another thread someone suggested moving the slow from her W to her E.

To me that sounded like a good idea thematically, I'd do that and then maybe lower the damage on her E a bit.

Or maybe play around with her energy costs.

Her passive exists because she needs some damage on her autoattacks while building AP and she needs to benefit in some good way from building AD.
