i know hes jsut had a rework but i want to know why he was considered bad? ive only played against him a few times but he hits like a truck and has utility up the ass and i remember when he was picked in lcs like last year or so he actually did pretty well as a top laner i dont really get why he was considered a "bad champion" was it because he was melee

I never played the old galio but my friend mained him and she said it was a hit or miss with him like you either have a good engage or a bad engage, and with the new galio you can jump in to save your team from a bad engage or make a good engage better. Plus its fun to do a hero jump and item 3157 into a golden statue of "I just cced you to death victory pose"

He just wasnt nearly as good as the other champions in his role.

Old Galio didn't really have impact in the game. His Q and E were utterly generic mage abilities - slapped onto a purported tank. He was hindered by massive mana costs, a mage play style, and the awkward need to rush into melee range to ult and auto attack. He was like Urgot - he had two very conflicting identities displayed in his kit and he wasn't particularly good at either of them. They decided to focus on making him a true tank who was encouraged to build MR and throw himself against mages instead of the most cumbersome and awkward mage in the game.
