Early game crits are the best

I love when you pick up a zeal early game and in your next trade: CRIT CRIT CRIT DOUBLE KILL

It's just funny is all. I'm not here to complain, just to make an observation on how the RNG factor can totally make or break the bot lane if one of the marksmen gets lucky early on. Who needs outplays when you have positive karma? lol

(RNG means random number generator, not Royal Never Give Up)

Tryndamere item 3086, then proceed to Permacrit the next trade because why not

I wish the person who downvoted would comment why they downvoted. This is a discussion, clicking a down arrow is not a valuable contribution. I'm not even taking a stand on whether this is a good or a bad thing. I just decided to post this after I watched a replay of how me (as support) and my Vayne went 2v3 and got my Vayne a triple kill, I noticed she landed at least 5 crits in that fight with nothing but a zeal. That's some nice luck right there lol

I once grabbed a full zeal item as my second item on gp, pretty sure it was a item 3046, so 30% crit.

I went at least 40 auto's/q's/barrels with no crits [sg-soraka]

I remember starting full crit runes and crit gloves on GP..... and never getting an early crit. Was a fun trollish pick, but damn does that RNG not like you.

I think having a member of Royal Never Give Up in your bot lane would also make/break bot lane for what its worth.

Crit can swing things, but it works both ways. A string of crits can win you lane, until you get a string of non-crits when you really need them and then things can swing back. Since karma/luck/etc aren't actually 'real' in contrast to statistics, everyone with their crits will eventually shake out in the long run to the expected outputs.

I agree that it's important to acknowledge that failing to crit can make or break a fight just as much as getting one in many circumstances, and that crits tend to average out later on. However, crit is still really unstable in the early game, when marksmen have maybe an IE and a Zeal, and thereby are much more prone to bursts of damage on a coin flip. Tryndamere's laning phase feels unhealthy and excessively snowbally precisely because of that too, where a level 1 cheese can randomly set him really far ahead or behind depending on how many crits he gets. This is one of the reasons why I think Riot's post on RNG isn't really that applicable, because even if crits average out over time, one single lucky crit, or dud, can have a significant impact at a particular moment, and that kind of power without gameplay isn't healthy.

Just that the 'long run' doesn't happen in a normal game. Crits eventually even out over multiple games, but for each single game, you stay RNGs bitch...

i think i had 80% crit and went 4-5 auto s no crit. then jinx range rocket insta crit. playing sivir feels terrid and each time you win its 90% outplay the other person. riot full of good balance.

Picking up a BF sword for earlier landing is typically better. More consistent and early crits don't give enough damage to justify it over reliable damage at that point.

I'm the guy who never gets crits, so I always go BF sword first on ADC's (unless its some off-kilter adc that doesn't need BF)

I like the reliable damage more than the CHANCE of a lucky crit. That way I know what I'm getting myself into.

I mean, youre losing out on early game wave control and scaling your damage up to deal with minions getting tankier so its still not an amazing tradeoff.

I mean, sure, you can get 3 crits in a row.

But, problem is, your crits are doing only slightly more than someone who spent 100g more for a BF sword. Their DPS will be far higher.

You have multipliers, sure, but you're multiplying nothing.

I like playing crit Varus for this reason (:

After a dirk or a pickaxe or something--I get the zeal for best-of-both-worlds. Your Qs still hit like a truck but you can also unexpectedly smash people with your autos. Very fun!!

Riot: We here at riot games believe that RNG should not be a deciding factor of who wins a fight. So that's why we've removed the dodge mechanic from the game. Random bystander: What about Crit- gunshot Riot: Like we said, rng should never decide who wins in a fight. Injured bystander: B-but Tryndamere and Yasuo a-and every ADC-gunshot gunshot Riot: . . . By the way, we also feel like dragon's are less important, so we're making 4 different kinds that spawn rand-ahh I mean differently depending on what game you're in, yep. That's all goodbye summoners.
