Lulu buffs are neat and all, but don't they push her a bit too far down janna territory?

It appears like the current direction with the buffs is to encourage lulu to just spam e+w on her carry from behind the backlines where focusing her just makes no sense.

What I like about current lulu(which as a support, is fairly weak at the moment) is her versatility, a choice between committing to a fight with polymorph or running/chasing with a speedboost, casting e on a carry to boost his damage+shield him, or use your e to be able to hit more people while encouraging you to aa to make use of your passive, and of course there's her ult where there's a choice between using it on a frontliner to help him stick to his target or to peel for your adc.

The thing about all of the changes is that they highly encourage the passive/braindead playstyle of staying behind, e+w the carry, use him as a proxy for q and ult him when someone jumps on him(basically a mild variation on janna and somewhat soraka).

Risking yourself to poly a target is now less valuable as you will miss the attackspeed boost on your adc, using e on an enemy so that q would hit multiple enemies is less rewarding because damage to multiple targets is reduced, using q to poke in lane(and not e-q) is less rewarding as it will likely go through creeps(as going to the sides where it won't pass through creeps is just too risky in most cases).

It just feels like the changes, although overall a buff, just make her gameplay both less unique and less interesting(let's face it, spamming abilities on your carry from the backline isn't very appealing to most people, in contrast to hitting multiple enemy champions with q is).

Oh well, I'm guessing I'll get downvoted for bashing the braindead "spam shield on carry "playstyle"", but it deserves that.

If you're a squishy mage support, you're SUPPOSED to be in the back line. That's literally the point: You use distance as a form of defense because you're naturally devoid of defenses.

Lulu's current issue is that her supporting isn't enough to support two people. It's either her or someone else. That's why she's always going off on her own...cause she'd rather not die. The changes are so that picking to help someone else over herself will be potent enough to be worth it, and maybe she'll stay bot lane this time.

I mean, in a perfect world, I think that's what Riot is aiming for.
