Hell, statistics wise, the Malzahar matchup is now slightly in favor of Zed.
First, you can not just bring out the winrates, I mean have you seen Zeds playrate, it is really high and the more players play the champion the lower the winrate should be and the less players play the champion the higher the winrate since they are probably his mains.
So let us take a look at 
mid: 51.40% winrate with a 1.28% playrate.
Now let us take a look at 
: 49.25% winrate with a 5.96% playrate.
You also have to take some other considerations too besides winrates you know, 's banrate is way higher than leading probably to tilt when he is banned.
People do not like to play against him since he is not fun to play against. Thus he is banned a lot and it tilts players, also with this high of a playrate and this relatively high winrate is in a healthy spot. His win rate is negative on Lux because the sample is very small , and even with this small sample , he has 60+% kill rate against her But we know how Zed mains don't play to win , they play to crush their enemy laner and throw after getting fed and complain about Zed being weak for losing the game as 19/4 Zed like , most of Zed mains I saw don't even try to roam , and I had that conversation with Zed mains on discord where they said " Zed is weak , we play him to have fun with our time , we don't play to win , if we wanna win we will pick OP champions like Vel and Veiger " Implying that Veiger is op lmao but yeah like I said , even with the current high win rate for a high skill floor champion like Zed , his winrate is still lower than what it is supposed to be because of the Crush the laner mentality which Zed mains have.
Sure I've read a zed buff at surrender at 20 Q- now ignores armor W- lowered cooldown to 5 seconds at all ranks E- now silences R- ulti alone does 2000 damage so the need to land your full combo is even less needed than before
