Hard champion: many would say shes one of the top 10 hardest champios. and probably the hardest top laner

almost 52% winrate and highest pickrate? isn't that way overboard for a really mechanically intensive champion? especially when she isn't nearly that good of a conq user?

shes way overpowered right now. if Zed Yasuo had that kind of winrate and pickrate. hell would freeze over. and the board will start burning tires and flipping cars.

Riven is the Ahri / Lee Sin / Vayne of the top lane, Riot is too scared to nerf her because of all the 1-tricks / flashy plays she does

It's almost like those who master Riven will generally rise to the top, meaning you'll see a lot of her there.

Like, mastering Riven has always been understood as the #1 most reliable way to get to Diamond+, with the drawback of you probably plummeting to Bronze while trying to learn her.

Yeah remove the animation cancel from her kit and rebalance her her from there, make her a normal champ.

Riven is not the hardest top laner in LoL, also being hard doesn’t always necessitate a lower winrate.

Riven has pretty much the highest proportion of its playerbase as OTPs out of any champ, which honestly boosts her winrate more than being hard lowers it.

There's been champs with even higher pickrate/winrates than Riven... when has a 51% winrate with an 11% pickrate considered OP? As I see it, that's generally balanced. She has received 0 buffs/nerfs for quite some time, other than a higher execute value which could be considered negligible. People complain about Riven even when she has a 47% winrate and is completely out of meta. If she received any attention at all, this could be considered warranted. But Riven's rarely ever a subject of target, to be honest, these days. Let it phase it out.

I main Riven and i can say, that she is way too strong (now, not in general!) Speaking as a Diamond 4 Riven main with total 800 games She snowballs way too hard and can 1v3 very easily And Essence Reaver is very strong on Riven too, because if you activate your ult and do some autos your q w e will come much faster and you can spam them and put soo many CC, shields and damage out and you can much easily 1v3.# And Riven Mains get nowadays SO many help. Like RivenMains has huge threads on how to beat lanes etc. Every lane match up is detailed written there. I don't know any other subbreddit who helps people like they do. They even got a website. They got everything. Everything too know. Every Matchup. Every combo. Practise tool. The process of learning Riven is shorter, thanks too the help out there. You needed back in Season 5 probaly 3-5k games too say that you mastered her, now you need 1.5-2k games. Riven mains are getting so much help out there. Its insane. If you have mastered riven, you're atleast Diamond 3. Atleast. If you ain't a potato. She is like Nidalee. Learning her is hard, but once you know what you are doing, you are escaping low elo very fast and youll play around diamond for a while. It's just that new Riven players get nowadays SOO much help. Like check their subreddit. There is a 10000 mile long post where EVERY matchup is detailed explained. You needed to do games, too learn the matchups. Now, you need games too, but the process of learning those matchups is shorterned soo hard!

Just wait for a new tank meta, and her play and winrate will drop. (or an ADC meta, where adcs got more power and suports shield em) Rightnow there is a good meta for her, because there aren't many tanks played, so riven can go easily ahead and shycombo the backline with her damage builds. Riven had her worst year in Season 8, by the way. So, don't panic that much. It's just the preseason.

Just delete item 3508 from the game, it will prevent some Jax abuse Fiora cases Riven

And nerf conqueror's true damage conversion

Slightly above average win rate. Calm down. A rise in play rate can also mean that experienced top laners and players that used to play Riven pick her again. It doesn't just have to be a bunch of noobs only because that's what you would LIKE to think. I get it, when others win with a 51,5% win rate champion they are playing overpowered champions and it's only the balance teams fault. But when you win (regardless of win rates), you always think that you are skilled. Most players think like that, i used to think like that. And I would say the same about Yasuo, just nobody would see it because of the spam and the hatred. lul

Hey long Riven otp here,

Rivens winrate is as it is because of her playerbase and her playerbase is OTPs only. Since OTPs know how to play her and know how to play around their matchups, they can pull of a possitive winrate, moreover unlike other OTPs Riven players don't have less than 500 games with her, on one account at least. Usually Riven players got 1000+ games, those that have less are starting to grasp her and because of that they can pull of 'again' a possitive winrate.

Unlike Zed,Yasuo etc. Riven is ONLY picked by OTPs. We all picked every champion in ranked when we want to mix things up but we know we can win with it, since those champions aren't that complicated. We all picked Zed even though we don't play him regularly, Yasuo, or any other you mention. You can think of any champion in the game which you would pick when u want to just switch things up, but you would never think of Riven to do with. Do you see any toplaner playing Riven? No you see Irelia, Camilee, Kled, Garen, Darius, Urgot, Aatrox. These champions aren't complicated but deal good damage, scale excellent and are meta. Do you pick Riven when you are autofilled? No, you don't.

So this is kind of ignorant to say without thinking things through. Riven is an OTP champion only with huge playerbase, nobody picks Riven and says 'imma try her out in soloQ' , and even if you did by some dumb miracle i bet on my life you went 0/10 or more. Screenshot it and send it here if you did, if you aren't a Riven player. Riven is the only champion in the game you can't just pick for a heck of it.

Edit: Those that say Riven is OP are either lower elo so their enemies don't know how to deal with Riven or are ignorant. The higher you go, the harder it is to do something with Riven, people know her and her weaknesses to some degree. Did it ever occur to you that players higher than Platinum don't complain about her? I have never seen a Challenger,Master,Diamond player complaining about her. Usually it's a Silver,Bronze,Gold player. Platinum players are on the edge. Thing about this, if you are complaining about her you are not higher than Plat. Therefore i wish those that are complaining about her to send me their opggs so i can prove my point.

I played her yesterday, and despite having poor mechanics with her, I did quite well. She's hidden OP I guess :D.

I don't get it , I'm sure before people asked to buff her and the thread was upvoted Anyway imo , Riven is countered by Tanks who make her team fighting really bad , Tanks aren't popular right now , which probably makes her like that? anyway I'm not a Riven main but , I play her Lethality and delete squishies by using all q's and e for gap closing and spam auto attacks
