Can we just remove this useless lane already?

Just make summoner's rift 4v4.

Lane that's been useless since s2, and kept getting nerfed for no reason (other than competitive and bronzies QQing about tank-meta bulls**t)

Played a game as Jarvan top had 15 kills, almost got 1v1'd by the enemy top 2-10-2 jax, how's that even possible? Why did I even bother winning the lane if he's just gonna 1v1 me anyway because well, he's Jax ! Duh.

And after I killed him he gave me 80g, what the hell? He can almost kill me yet gives me 80g, why do I even bother playing top ? Should I just mindlessly pick malphite or maokai or some other full tank champ and pray under my tower that my team will carry me ?

Remove the god damn top lane and make the game 4v4 then let the top laners join at like min 20 to be useless cc soaks for their ADCs and Mid Laners and Junglers.

I mean, seriously, red smite is so god damn Overpowered it can make a 0-0-0 jungler destroy a 5-0 top laner WITH ZERO effort, literally just right click the top laner and press F or D (depending which one you prefer) and watch him melt and when he tries fighting back, well, YOU are the tank now.

True damage dealing tank.

Don't even get me started on the mid lane. If I had 15 kills as Annie or any other overpowered "reworked" AP champ I wouldn't even need ulti to kill my 2-10-2 enemy mid laner. I could just Q+W and ignite BOOM he's dead. Then roam bot cause I have so much map presence it's ridiculous , and kill the enemy bot lane too!

Oh yeah, speaking of mid laners, I facechecked a bush with katarina in it and she had similar score (about few kills and 50-60 cs less than me though) and she JUST 1 SHOT ME WITH HER ULTI ! Her items : Hextech gunblade, rylais, spell pen boots, needlessly large rod My items : Hydra, mercs, trinity force, duskblade and giant's belt

Yep, just got 1 shot by her ulti, by the time I started running I was already dead.

Now, explain to me you, why would I wanna play top lane again ? Why stomp that riven when at the end of the day a 0-10 riven is same as 10-0 any other top laner that beat her as long as she gets to stun the adc?

Top laners are just useless cc soaks that are meant to keep the junglers busy. Oh yeah , did I even mention top lane is 100% decided by the jungler?

Teleport, passive gold boost, tankier top towers, shutting down a killing spree is now a global reward, well, might as well afk till 20 mins and then come in and decide if I should play or not as a top laner since it's impossible to carry or be even remotely useful when ONE vayne condemn can make you useless for the entire teamfight.

I mean, the other day I was playing jax and I was fed outta my ass but I tried teamfighting against a Lee and an Alistar, silly me , right ?

I should've just kept mindlessly pushing top like a good old useless top laner is supposed to do.

So you make a weak pick. apparently build your pick badly, and lack understanding ofhow snowbally Autoattack champions like Jax work, and therefore the lane you play on is bad?

No, but top lane should be buffed and the game should be changed in order to acomodate existence of top lane

Jeez, I have to explain basics to this guy...

Snowballing means that a champion gets rapidly more powerful beyond a specific point in his itemization, at which point he becomes very hard to deal with. It doesn't matter what his KDA was. The KDA doesn't influence how the champion works mechanically.

It might help if the guy I'm trying to explain the situation to, was familiar with the words in the first place.

Toplane exists just fine, I main it for nearly 4 years now, and I have no problem carrying games from the position. The difference is: I am a skilled player.

all of this doesnt have to do with top lane in particular though. its general game mechanics that apply to every lane. like how you can shut down vayne, and she will still power spike from 2 items and start wrecking your team.

i thought you were going to make an actual point about riot nerfing teleport and taking focus away from top lane by adding turret first blood, and removing the fortification from bot, so games are almost always decided within the first 10 minutes. and as a top laner you have no way of impacting the map anymore during that crucial stage.

No, I'll make a point about them BUFFING teleport in the first place, making it mandatory on top laners, so that if you kill the enemy top laner using ignite and go b, when you come back he will be higher level than you with a built up wave so you have to concede the lane for a bit DESPITE killing him.

In my opinion teleport should be COMPLETELY removed or added as a costly item, that way you would get punished for actually dying in the lane instead of the ignite guy who killed you being punished for playing aggressive.

The difference between risk and reward is far too great to carry ignite, or even play aggressive and kill your opponent while you could be just last hitting and waiting for whichever jungler shows up.

As a top main, playing nothing but top lane for over a year now. Top is farmville/pushing. Your goal is not to get fed as hard as you can, your goal is to push to the enemy's base as much as you can. Applying pressure nonstop making the enemy jungler have to come to your lane. While your jungler can do better stuff like gank bot, get dragon, etc. If your jungler is garbage and just passively farms his jungle, then gank yourself.

What to do in order in top lane:

  1. Farm CS, DONT push or you will get ganked
  2. Harass enemy laner, dont be risky tho
  3. Push lane when you have sight stone in river.
  4. TP bot (this is usually when bot gets ganked, if they get ganked, tp down there)
  5. Take your tower
  6. Gank mid and get their tower
  7. Push top lane, then counter farm enemies jungle.
  8. Keep split pushing lanes, you want pressure on the map
  9. At this point your team should be grouped mid, now once they push mid, go top/bot and get a tower while they distract mid lane.
  10. Get inhibs. Thats your priority.

What to do in order in top lane:

Get carried because your game impact is so minimal you literally don't matter.

If you cc the enemy adc you did your job and you might as well die now

If you die before ccing enemy adc well you failed and the enemy adc just used you as a health pot life stealing off of you

Exactly. It's jax ! What did I expect? Why did I even beat him in lane ? What was the point? I should've just let him free farm while I was ganking mid or bot as a 2nd jungler and who cares if I am severely underleveled ? This game is all about jungle, mid and adc anyway.

I've beaten a 1-9 vayne with me feeding being 1-8 As jax. Winning lane means nothing

What's the point of this thread? Lack decision making? Poor coordination with your team? Enemy laner coming back from being utterly crushed? Well only one thing to say to that.
