Mid advice!

When I play MID I can't farm without using all of my abilities and mana and excluding blue buffs from the conversation what runes should I use. I want to do my job as Mid and 100-0 people but I can't farm without say AD reds is that viable ?

what I use Magic Pen=Reds HP per level= Yellows MR=Blues and AP=Q's but like I said before I can't cs well with this rune setup any advice would be most appreciative!

  • Thank you

Mage last hitting just takes practice. While I was learning I would select minions to see their actual health %

I keep my runes to maximize ability damage as Lux. And to farm I just click on a minion and when the minion hits 100 hp or 50 hp I just last hit. That way is easier to last hit.

Another thing you can do is freezing the lane, basically let your minions do damage to enemy minions, and the only damage you do to enemy minions will be when you last hit.

So it goes like this

---you don't hurt minions --you last hit minions --and if you're ranged, and enemy is melee, the melee enemy will have to enter your basic attack range to farm depending on your positioning --the enemy can't farm under tower if you freeze the lane so it helps if you're winning the lane

The runes are fine. You can switch the glyphs out for 6x sclaing cooldown reduction and 3x magic resist.

In lane you just last hit the minions with auto attacks. You do not have to push fast or waveclear fast. Just freeze the lane and use your abilities to punish your opponent if he comes up to farm. That depends on the champ you're playing tho. If you play a roam mage, then waveclear asap and go roam, but if you play a burst mage like syndra and so on, just freeze and poke the enemy. You do not have to make big plays and 100-0 the enemy right away. Just build it slowly and steadily. The way to win most midlane matchups is to just farm and wait for a mistake. It might be boring at some point after 10 minutes farming without major action, but it is worth it if you catch your enemy making a mistake and getting punished for it.

The problem with freezing is all it will cause is my lane opponent to roam and if I'm freezing I could potentially miss so much cs to the point that it's worthless unless in higher elo. I'm in Bronze so there isn't any wards and people don't know what cs or freezing is so I can't do that, thank you tho for the advice means alot ;]

Just freeze. The moment your enemy laner leaves to roam you clear the wave so he loses mid farm and you follow him immediately after you cleared the wave. You may arrive 5 seconds later than him, but it's worth it. You can still help out the team by being there and even out the fight and denied your enemy cs and damaged his turret. It's important to not use too much mana in laning phase for when the enemy roams to waveclear instantly and follow up right away. Also go back to base once you have 900 gold (waveclear once you hit 900 gold) and buy a lost chapter. With that your mana problems are mostly gone and you can use your abilities more often.

Spoken like a challenger player, you're going places!

If you're having trouble last hitting, go attack speed in the ferocity tree.

Keep in mind that last hitting is a art, learning to control minion waves and your own mana takes time. Going with AS mastery over the AP one will cost you later, its better to just learn how to do it on your own with the standard builds that won't hinder you just to make CSing easier, you'll eventually get the hang of it, just takes practice. Like I said a couple of bot games just to simply practicing last hitting then ending and restarting after say 10 mins to keep practicing.

Different champs AA differently, Annie and Anivia have awful AA animations where as someone like Ahri and LB have better AA animations.

Mana managing is also difficult, early game try not to expend more then your 1 spell, Ahri Q, Ziggs Q, Xerath Q, the main wave clear spell. Also try to make it count, as Ahri try to Q the wave and tag the enemy laner as well. Also keep in mind by abusing your spell you will push in and make yourself vulnerable. If you notice your down to 1/3 mana, try to just chill and last hit it back up, try to never go oom cause you never know when you need to roam half way in the river to help your jungler or use your Charm as Ahri to help live a gank.

Always try to back with enough for your item, a Control Ward (unless your current one is still up you won't NEED to buy a new one) and 2-3 HP pots. HP pots are useful for most of lane until you realize they can 100-0 in a sec. When you back, try to push the wave straight into the enemy turret so the lane will reset before your back.

Backing for a 2nd Dorans ring will also help you with early game mana management, The passive stacks and you get a decent Mana regan/5, HP, and AP.

If you find that you have to back more then most people would, TP is also a good spell to bring with flash, I typically still run Ghost and Flash, but I sub Ghost out for whatever situational sum spell I need. Against the likes of Zed, Yas, Fizz and Talon Exhaust is most useful, if I'm the assassin and think I can bully lane I'll take Ignite and try to snowball. Against Syndra or Viegar barrier is good to protect you from there ults.

If your pushed up and see the opponent's pushed into your teammates tower early game, you can roam to try to help, get a kill or assist. Try to coordinate it with your jungler for a higher probable kill.

If you can, also try to hold your wave at the 30 yard line of mind lane, so the turret doesn't hit it but so you making the enemy kinda sit at the half way mark. Again wave management is hard, its a skill.

If you have any other random question, I'm down to try and help.

Play a few bot games for the early game, don't need to finish it, just to get used to last hitting,

I go Mage Pen (Reds) Armor (Yellows) MR (Blue) AP (Purple)

I got like 3k games in just normal, it just takes time to get used to it.

Armor yellows ? Even against AP what about Hp per level or even flat hp for AP

MrHaZeYo1 votes

Well unless the entire opponents are AP I'd stick with Armor Yellows, they give you the most bang for your buck.

The most popular junglers are Lee Sin, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Hecrim, and Vi, all AD damage dealers. That 9 armor can be the difference between life and death if your ganked early. Also, that 9 armor can be the difference between a ADC mid-late game 2 hitting you or 3 hitting you. I under stand well gee HaZe whats it matter if it takes 1 less hit, as a Mage it gives you time to react and maybe kill them first.
