It's called Luden's Echo, and they didn't give it any sound? For fuck's sakes, Riot!

It should have a distorted version of the sound from the ability used to trigger it.

That'd be pretty sick actually

Probably a pain to code though

ElJanitorFrank1 votes

Nah, should be easy. Just slap a particular filter on it.

No doubt at all that there would be some weird combinations of abilities, but whatever.

So, since Statick Shiv is a bolt of lightning arcing between targets. What if Luden's Echo was like a bolt of purple lightning striking from above the target?

I can dig it

CircusT4ffy4 votes

Why not make it a blast of sound going between targets, like a purple sound wave that makes a very distinct noise when it hits?

I'm all for something showing it was used more clearly, but if we could help it lets use something aside from lightning.

Also give it some damage, current 100 +15% AP is just unnoticeable as it's particle.

With 120 AP that's 117 damage, let me remind you that spell casts come slower than AA counterpart. item 3087

with 1000 AP that's 250 damage. Really ? Statik Shiv can crit frequently for 200 damage without full build. Further improved with item 3031's crit damage to 250 damage.

The easiest way to fix item 3285 is to give it more charge time as a justification for dealing decent damage ( which it currently does not. )

It also stacks much faster than Shiv, as it gives 20 stacks for every spell cast and you have to autoattack to get extra shiv stacks

Combine that with a low CD champ like Vladimir Katarina Karthus and it's pretty good

YOU BEEN WARNED2 votes

Did you even use it before posting, I'm just wondering. Aside from the fact those champions have better things to invest in even item 3023 would feel better in an AP build due to the CDR mixed in. The damage does not deliver, the fact statik shiv outputs more damage at lower cost is very sad.

I've been testing it on Kat and Vlad as a replacement for Deathcap mid game

They already have fairly low scaling on their basic combos and the movespeed is good on both of them

They're two different items and Shiv can't be applied with anything but AAs

Not to mention that Shiv is only critting on 40% of attacks in a standard ADC build, as they'll have IE + Shiv and nothing else for crit chance

Yasuo is the only one outdamaging Luden's with Shiv due to his passive, and Luden's still stacks faster

Try it on Xerath

Occasionally upping arcanopulse's damage to 340+(.9AP) is Brutal

it's broken on Evelynn. It's basically a 2nd triforce, if you build both.

+1 Was testing a item 3285 + item 3087 build on Kassadin for the luls and i couldn't even see it.

Even after i sold Statikk just to see if it was actually proc'ing i could barely see it.

It also doesn't help that Kassadin's particles are all purple.

NorthernDruid4 votes

Agreed, make it more... magical, more powerful and not just 4 blobs flopping about.

IceKingChernobog3 votes

yeah, while it's a good item burst mages i can barely see when it goes off. More clarity would be great for it.

Truthteller3 votes

Would be cooler if it had a "swoosh" sound similar to velkoz's W, otherwise I totally agree.

I don't understand what difference it would make to be perfectly honest. Gameplay wise hearing the sound wont exactly stop it from hitting you

Cuz it's boring

The Shiv is a VERY obvious trigger, and it lets you know instantly that it's been used, by who, and on what. This can mean the difference in a hundred or so damage to you and maybe another teammate, which can mean everything. It's not major, but having that readily audible sound and a more noticeable effect could mean the difference in a duel.

by the time you hear shivs sound it has already did its damage. The sound is more of a vanity thing then anything else.

JevelFaithful2 votes

I'd tend to disagree. It helps you know which damage are on "cooldown", helps you when you just used it and you can't expect it for a few seconds. Helps you know the beat at which you throw them out and helps you prepare for the next trigger. All that approximatively, but without looking at the UI. If you want precision or confirmation, then you'll look at the UI.

Phrixscreoth3 votes

The point isn't so that you can avoid taking damage by dodging when the sound comes out, the point is letting the person know that their item is on cooldown and you have to charge your damage boost again.

The sound feedback isn't for the sake of the person getting hit, it's for the person doing the hitting.

^ As Luden's Echo stands now, it's one of those "invisible power" things that Riot tends to disapprove of, that, and the subtlety of it isn't that exciting to see, so it may as well be a variation on the Deathcap in terms of all of the effects you notice.

Yeah I went and checked after making this thread

Couldn't tell from the 3 games I played with it

Thryale2 votes

is it just me, or is the bonus dmg from it hardly even noticeable either?

TheLordPrism2 votes

Yeah I would really like it to make more of a sound/be more visible myself........ But aside from that, I'm really enjoying this item so far, especially on my main, Diana ........... It's given her a very noticeable increase in her burst...... Before this Item came out, I would always need to use my q, r, w , passive proc, r to finish someone off...... If I go in for a combo with ludens fully charged, I don't even have to use my second r most of the time. I'd say that's a pretty significant difference. And as far as the item on Cassiopeia goes, It's pretty good since it stacks even faster than it does with others (which is pretty fast to begin with.

I completely agree- I played a game against Ahri yesterday, and I didn't realize she had the item until the game was almost over.

agbudar1 votes

btw for all you people i tried it out on some champs

against my belief it actually is sorta underwhelming on eve but she is a underwhelming champ kappa

it worked miracles for mordekaiser combined with lichbane i was pretty much killing people in 1 rotation. (good for burst champs)

it doesn't work really well with teemo (thank god)
