The fact that anivia can with 200 AP do half a squishies HP with the ridiculous R+E poke combo is rubbish and it shouldn't even be a thing. You can't even get close an Anivia when she finishes her first mana item, you'll eat burst AOE damage that can't miss. So much skill, yet Yasuo should be nerfed.

Champion.gg, role-mid Play percent Zed(assassin), Ahri(assassin), Lux(mage, overbuffed with FQC and thunderlord, she procs both with spell+aa), Fizz(assassin), Leblanc(assassin), Yasuo(assassin), Brand(mage, overbuffed with FQC he procs with single spell, and deathfire) Out of 7 top pickrates we have 5 assassins and 2 mages, and these 2 are played only because of new frostqueen and new masteries

Now ban percent Brand, Yasuo, Zed, Fizz, GP, LB, Diana Aside from GP, who is more picked as a toplaner, all others are either assassins or Brand.

Overall people prefer playing assassins and they prefer to ban assassins too.

Now check bottom of this banlist: Varus(AD with mage playstyle), Karthus, Ziggs, Karma, Zyra, Xerath, Kennen, Jayce(again, AD mage), Velkoz Looks like nobody is afraid to play against these champions, because they are weak and have no items/masteries with OP synergy. And out of these 10, 8 are typical mages and 2 are AD poke casters And guess what? They also have low pickrates, with only exception of 6% Orianna all others are at 2% or lesser

Overall people don't like playing mages and they don't mind playing against them

Mages have been plotting since season 5 with the "Mages are UP and need a rework like ADCs" and "Nerf Yasuo/Zed" threads so Riot would forget that mages have been the best class since forever with the best itemization options (Which got updated too not too long ago) and give them a mage rework and they achieved it. It's too late now, can't stop this.

Observe that the "Mages" getting picked are the mages with insanely high base damages that don't need many items to be effective.

the thing is, you have to actually land your skill shots and put yourself in harms way to be an effective mage, let alone hit more than 1 target and get away with it.

anivia has always been sleeper OP, i mean who else gets to deal 2x damage built into their kit?

as for assassins, they're rewarded just for pressing their buttons at the right time, not because they had to make a decision, and they do certain things too well, not that they're bad or broken OP champions, its just that they need to be toned down in key areas, not gutted. were not saying they cant be unique or different, or "lol cant touch me", but they shouldn't hit 6 and get free kills against squishies because they got in range and you mashed on your keyboard in their general direction.

these mages have an effective range of close to 1000, guess how long thresh/blitz hook is? 1100.... and a vi Q + R ? or a hecarim who ults right at you?

its just how the classes work. mages clear from a distance, and mages get dived on, if they outskill you then they absolutley deserve it. they miss? heres a face pounding....

tell me all of their great comebacks once they go 0-3 in lane....

they're fine.... they'll still playmake when they hit 6 anyway....

no they wont... they'll hit you with everything and you'll still be alive because they're item dependent and simply dont have the AP they need to get the job done.
