New AP items and Heimer

So I was just watching something on youtube and saw a clip of heimer w/ the new rylais. It looks like his turrets autos will proc it (at the low percentage) which seems strange to me because usually only his turret lasers will proc things (like luden's).

Anyone know if this is old and it got fixed? I figure if this isn't wrong and it goes live my favorite champ is getting nerfs. His old ult had the slow on turrets and giving him part of the old ult active (back when his numbers had to be stupid bc his kit was toxic as hell) as just a passive for building an item is probably a guarantee that he'll have to be nerfed for balance issues the patch after.

Let's not pretend his current kit isn't toxic as hell either.

Not sure if you were around for it or not, but his current kit is way more okay to play against than his old kit was. His current kit is frustrating, but the worst part about his current kit isn't actually his kit, it's his low pick rate. I don't particularly like playing against heimer, but there are a number of match ups that but me way more because I know heimer match ups so well from playing as him so much. He'd be way worse if I didn't know him though, and that's most people's issue, you don't see him every other game like you do thresh. Can you imagine how terrible playing against thresh would be if you knew his kit as well as you know heimer's? When you don't know the best way to play against something, then if it is even remotely strong it suddenly becomes impossible to play against.

If you're a melee champ, Heimer's just impossible to play against period.

I swear to god, if they'd just let us deal with his turrets by having our creep waves distract them while we took them out instead of taking automatic unblockable damage as soon as we got close to them...

The issue is that's pretty much impossible w/out making his kit function like complete crap. Removing the ability for turrets to prioritize a champ that heimer is attacking makes heimer's damage much more random in trades in terms because you don't know when the turrets will attack and when they won't (unless you are getting attacked, but it would be random on trades where you land stun). If you aren't suggesting dropping the mechanic to prioritize targets heimer is attacking then it wouldn't change anything because a decent heimer autos when you try to kill their turrets, and the initial laser when it is just sitting charged is so predictable it doesn't really matter.

PS Tryndamere and Yasuo both have unique mechanics that not all melee champs have, but they are certainly melee, and they are two of the harder match ups I've played consistently in my 200-250 ranked games on heimer this season.

That's not true.

Master Yi can alpha strike away a turret (or even 3 if they are close) at once. If Yi is level 6 he can kill a Heimer providing he misses or allready used his grenade.

And most melee tanks can just run through his turrets and take little damage when they have some HP/Mr.

Also, Heimer will always push, making him a prime target for your jungler.

His turrets count as summoned minions I'm pretty sure, so with the new Rylais, the turrets will hit with a 20% slow.

Also. PSA to all Heimer players on my team. Stop building Luden's. Get Zhonya's, Rylais, Deathcap, anything but Luden's; it's not as OP as it used to be.

It was strong on him before if you were in a spot where the poke was needed. A Luden's second or third item could some times be the difference between being able to poke and siege to take objectives and win, or failing to do that, depending on the team comps. Now with the reduced poke and increased move speed, an immobile champ like heimer is much much better off with rylais. I'm looking forward to this next patch a lot bc new rylias looks really good on heimer and it adds a bit of durability to his build path.
