Is the Lux "nerf" a buff?

As someone who played lux a fair amount of times (around 50k mastery), I feel like this "nerf" is actualy a buff. I don't mind that much that her shield is weaker in the laning phase, having a 260 shield with 0 AP for ALL my team feels way stronger than the initial 180.

Let's say you have 400 AP.

Max level shield pre nerf: 180+ (0.35x400)= 300

Max level shield post nerf: 260 + (0.20x400)= 340

Like, it is leggit stronger.

both, its a change in mechanics. and one that makes sense.

its a nerf for her personal shield, and a buff when shielding someone at maximum distance.

funny thing is, i suggested this change 4 or 5 years ago, due to how awkward it is that her shield has the least amount of effect when its harder to hit. no clutch saves of an ally by hitting him when hes far away and moving around, but the double shield when hes right in front of your nose.

It's a nerf.

the shield will stack, which means at maximum distance its a buff.

right now, if you hit an ally at maximum distance he only gets half the shield value, since its immediately applied and refreshed. after this change he gets a larger burst shield.

this might actually be a pretty good boost for support lux. she gets less out of it personally, but more when correctly used on allies.
