Noticing the Champion.GG stats for jungle Hecarim showing that most keep their Warding Totems, I have to wonder if switching to Sweeping Lens partway through a match is considered a bad idea these days.
If so, is it on the logic that "you were already spotted, sweeping the ward is pointless"?
Stray Kat1 votesPersonally, I get the green upgrade(warding), and the sweeping lens+a pink on my first back. But that's mostly because I play in silver where most people don't ward at all, so the more I can ward the better.

Plus, I don't often want to use my smite on a champ anyway, I'd rather have extra wards and save my smite for objectives and snagging a quick camp.

AdeBug1 votesit's a bad idea for top to NOT switch to that when facing teemo between 6 and 9, after which they should switch to oracle. it's a bad idea for bot to NOT switch to sweep or oracle when facing invis traps and support has a ward item with 3 or fkn 4 charges already. For jg, depends, if no one is warding, I'd rather keep the 2 default ones plus a pink and smite the birds, even the enemy's, to clear out wards. But if I get the warding jg item (with Fiddle) and there's invis shit on the map, or enemies (Shaco, Twitch, Eve) then yes I will get any sweeper available or have a pink @ ready. My point is the sweepers are not just for wards. And you don't even need a sweeper to clear pink wards.
