Just a thought on Nasus' passive.

I've been playing a lot of Nasus recently since I heard you don't need a gazillion stacks to be good anymore (I suck at stacking), and I've noticed something about his passive in comparison to other Juggernauts.

A lot of Juggernauts have standardized numbers that scale well into the late game on their own. Illaoi's tentacles have a high amount of base damage, Garen's E gains ticks per level and most recently shreds Armor (and his passive is the same), Darius' passive gives him a stat boost, and all of their ultimates are extremely strong. These numbers help them deal damage and be effective even if they are behind. It makes them somewhat reliable, as if that were an aspect of their role.

Nasus doesn't have anything like that. If he doesn't deal damage his Life Steal won't be of any use to him.

And I know his passive is great. It's simple and effective, and not over-complicated like so much else in League nowadays. And I know you shouldn't fix what isn't broken. But wouldn't it be just to update it to League's new design philosophies?

Consider the Spell Vamp update we had a while back, before which champions like Vladimir and Mordekaiser could only perform well if they bought Spell Vamp and did enough damage to make use of it. There were so many arguments to standardizing their healing in solid numbers, both for those who play as these champions and those who play against them. Those same arguments should also apply to Nasus to a lesser degree.

So why not give him a passive like this (or something similar at least)?:

Nasus heals for (number scaling per level) (+a small percentage of total Attack Damage) Health on-hit. Hitting an enemy with his Q increases this amount by a percentage based on the enemy's missing Health (this percentage could increase similar to Garen's passive).

One of the things about Nasus that is good is that you don't need those stacks to be god-like. Build a Trinity or an Iceborn, get SOME stacks, build a ZZ'Rot, have Ghost, have tier 2 boots, and you're perfect for what Nasus does best which is killing towers.

If you are a split-push Nasus then multiple-people on the enemy team has to respond to you or they will lose everything.

Sounds like you just need to learn how to farm with Susan. If you know you're bad in that section, perhaps that's where you should focus your skills on.

I need to rewrite my reply, it's annoying me. You're right when considering my first paragraph but you completely ignore the rest of which I wrote. There, that shouldn't have any mistakes.

For starters, Susan isn't a juggernaut. I'm sure you could build him like one, but I don't see why anybody would. As well, most juggernauts fall off late game while Susan only gets stronger the later the game gets, sorta like Singed. Susan's, early game is terrible because his later game can be so ridiculously strong. I just don't think you've got a good grasp around Susan in general. You make comparisons with other Champs that are juggernauts which scale hard in early game: Darius, Illaoi, Garen, Renek,Olaf, etc but their entire kit is about snowballing or maintaining a lead so by mid game they're still strong and don't completely fall off by late game. This doesn't describe Susan in the slightest. Susan would rather stalemate top lane, freeze the lane and just Q for days unless you decide to go pressure lane Susan like that korean guy does in challenger. Tbh I just don't think you quite understand your champion's kit in general and should spend more time trying to understand his kit better, understanding lane freezing, and understand concepts that are applied in top lane. A lot of people think Nasus is easy, but he isn't, he's one the the most difficult champs to play in top lane because you require to have a good understanding of so many concepts, sort of like Singed. He's easily countered and a lot of the time focused upon for ganks.

Your passive that you would like to introduce would be broken by the time late game would hit. He's hard enough to kill by late game if you're not Vayne. With the passive you would like to introduce, he would be unkillable and with the amount of life sustain he gets with his Ult+Spirit visage. By the time min 35 hits a Susan can have easily around 300-800 stacks depending on the style they play. What you're asking is for ultimate tank: that deals high amounts of dmg while having high amounts of sustain, while having the strongest slow in the game, a E that lowers armour. There would be no killing him.

Nasus is a Juggernaut and his playstyle has nothing to do with the suggestion I'm making.

The new passive would be no different from the one he has now in the scenario you described. If anything, it would be weaker because I'm suggesting they standardize the numbers instead of having such a high variance between a leading Nasus and one who is behind. Ideally, the sustain he would have would be the intermediate between those two (edit: and thus more reliable, which I propose is good). I didn't even name any numbers so I don't know why you think he would be unkillable.

For starters Nasus IS THE quintessential juggernaut and Darius, Illaoi and the others are designed in comparison and contrast to him.

Nasus does build like a juggernaut in that he wants max CDR, Health and tank. IBG, SV, Mercs, Titanic Hydra for Wave Clear or Sterak's for burst mitigation then Randuin's, Deadman's, Banshee's or ZZ'rot Depending on needs.

This post in general is flawed asking for a champion who is for the most part balanced to be changed. Nasus doesn't need changes and building him like Quas is only a good strategy if you are getting denied so hard you can't stack. Typically against a Vayne, Quinn or really good Teemo. Otherwise by not learning how to stack or manage the lane properly you will never be a good Nasus b/c even Quas knows when to push and how to break a freeze.

Bottom line Nasus is fine and E max is effectively worse in terms of win rate then Q stack. Also E max renders his passive useless so you are gimping yourself again if your team falls behind or you play E max really poorly and feed or deny yourself by pushing without planning.
