ADVICE NEEDED: What are the characteristics of a fighter role champion?

I primary play fighter and tank type champions. I have been doing well for myself especially with Tank type champions. However, I do not know exactly what makes a fighter champion a "fighter".

I would really like to know a few things if you guys could provide them such as:

  • What stats make a champion a fighter.
  • What items do you guys recommend to purchase for a fighter.
  • What is the overall definition of a fighter.

I would really appreciate any advice you guys could provide thanks.

FIghter is a generic term that can't be given one set of items.

Lee Sin is a fighter, Yasuo is a fighter, Garen is a fighter. All of these champions play and build wildly differently.

The definition of a fighter is a champion with melee auto-attacks that focuses more on damage than disruption/peel. That's all.

  1. High sustained damage, extremely high sustained damage to squishies. This is in contrast to ADCs who have much higher sustained damage overall and are optimized for fighting fighters and tanks, not squishies.

  2. Mediocre burst, if any. Usually tied to a very high CD ult. However due to high sustained damage vs. squishies they look like they have substantial burst.

  3. Have some innate utility such as CC, displacements, team steroids/shields, etc. comparable to mages but far weaker than tanks or supports

  4. Are usually built semi-defensively due to either having enough damage but no way of safely outputting it or having innate defenses which enables you to build a bit of damage.

  5. Are flexible in that they can build as a carry, tank or even support based on the game situation.

  6. Have mediocre/low mobility.
