Renekton is really unfun to play against

I genuinely don't believe that Renekton is in the healthiest spot right now. Lane phase against him is frustratingly difficult unless you specifically pick a champion that directly counters him, which unfortunately I don't find myself playing. Most of the time I pick my champ before him anyways, so they can safely pick Renekton. His combo feels really shitty to play against. Goes in, point click stun, q for massive damage plus heal, dash right back out before I can even get an auto attack on him. I'm not even safe in my own minions. You're pretty much forced to accept from champ select that you're lane is lost and you're going to be in a cs/gold deficiency because you have to just surrender your lane phase to him.

Now, I understand that he's supposed to have a beastly early game because he falls off. But guess what, Spear of Shojin helps him way too much with that. Feels like he never truly falls off anymore.

There's a very cheap item that destroys his sustain, especially early and it scales into late;

Edit: I am not at all intending this to be condescending like so many posts on this game and forum, I'm saying genuinely, try it out.

Spear of Shojin is strong a lot of champions, so it's not just Renekton that's the problem here.

Honestly, it needs to be changed to its Nexus Blitz version, where it was a Defensive item.

There's no satisfying way to keep Essence Flare in the game.

Renekton doesn't even fall off anymore. Champions that rush 40% CDR don't fall off anymore.

Way to many champions are better then renekton early for me to believe renek deserves a post like this. Illoai jayce darius jax trynd etc. And then there is a slew of ranged champs like teemo not to mention he is very easily outscaled by many champs like vlad kayle and nasus. Reneks power right now is that he can beat some of the stronger champs toplane that most cant like riven and yorick and 1 mistake into those is an insta lose lane for renek unless your a one trick

item 3161 just needs to be deleted / nerfed hard.

Idiots at Riot HQ don't seem to realize that champions that are gated by their cooldowns and nothing else become oppressive when, surprise surprise, their cooldowns don't exist.

You just have to wait and play safe. If you engage him you die but if you don't and you don't let him kill you he will pretty much become useless mid and late game.

I saw a post like this a few days ago about Renekton being "OP". He operates in the same fashion Trynd does.

Just..... deny.... him.... rage......

Its a really really dumb and simple concept... it means from the start of the game that you see a Renekton, be the first to the lane, because any ren/trynd player knows they need to HIT shit to get fury because they are half a champ without Fury. That is your moment to bully the ABSSSOLUTE SHIT out of him my friend. You arent doing work unless you are making him pay for auto atacking those minions for rage and if he decides to fight you? good, watch him burn that fury just to get a shitty level 2 heal off.

I saw maverick mention heal mitigation items, but instead of going that route straight away, try to win the level 1-3 trades so you CAN continue lane dominance. If you can get a kill on him, that 1 item difference could change the next dual between you two as well, or just wait for wave to crash back into your tower, and watch his fury go away again, and rinse repeat the same strategy above yet again on the new wave.

TL;DR manage his fury.
