"It's just a normals" isn't a valid excuse

Sorry but when you're inting, toxic, rage quitting, flaming, etc, you can't use the fact that it's a norms game to justify it. It's not that I take normals games super seriously myself or anything, at least not like I do ranked games. But I would still like to have fun while playing and have somewhat of an even, competitive match. Pick whatever oddball off meta champs you want in norms, I got no issue with that. But stop being a toxic player then excusing yourself by telling me it's a norms so it doesn't matter.

Sidenote: this goes for matchmaking too Riot. Explain how it's fair that the lvl 39 Xayah I was matched up with has to play against an enemy team where nobody is even close to her level. Not fair for her and not fair for her ally team.

EDIT: Guys, when I say inting I mean inting, as in intentionally feeding, not just having a bad game.

I mean if I'm messing around and I happen to be 1/7 but I'm trying, then I'll use the normals excuse. But it's true, if you're literally inting/afk then that doesn't work anymore.

just tell people "the rules are the same in ranked normals and coop" in legit 90% of the cases they will answer with stuff like "lol stfu nerd" which makes them even more entitled for a punishement

I dont think anyone who is "toxic, rage quitting, flaming, etc" is saying "It's just normals" those are the people who are taking it too seriously but maybe I just haven't see it I dunno🤷‍♂️

Now I say this every time someone mentions "inting" because there is a clear difference of playing bad and inting people seem to ignore.

Inting: is when someone is ACTIVELY trying to lose the game running down a lane or just throw themselves at the first enemy they see without a care. if this is the case I very much doubt someone who is ACTUALLY inting is also saying "its just a normal" because they are the ones who went so far to mental boom over it.

If someone is just getting shit on then oh well you win some you lose some because it is indeed just a normal game.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't try your best. This doesn't mean you shouldn't care about winning. This means that if one of your teammates is playing bad there's no point in nailing them to a cross and getting so worked up over it because its just a normal game.

we all like to ignore all the times we play like shit but everyone has those games it happens better it be in norms than ranked no?

As for the Xayah issue, she was likely a smurf or something fucky with her MMR because I looked at a few of her previous games and she is consistently queued with Golds, Plats, and even Diamond players. if she was ACTUALLY a level 39 player she just wouldn't be in these games at all, level 39 is SUPER low. Now she doesn't do AMAZING in all her games but the consistency of the people she is matched with is what makes this look like shes a smurf because sure the matchmaking system isn't the best, but I dont see it actually keeping her playing with those people if she didn't belong there. The majority of this player base is Iron, Bronze, and Silver so to me I feel the system shouldn't have a hard time queuing her up with those people. However I don't have a solid answer to this I'm just trying to make sense of it, because like I said its not the best but its not THAT bad.

Level has got nothing to do with MMR.

For all you know, they might have been permabanned on their high ELO ranked main and had to start from scratch. You know, the rank that gets mentioned all the time ... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

actively ruining the game =/= not an excuse playing poorly = excuse

Honestly I almost exclusively play normals since I have experienced the same kind of toxicity and coinflip teammates in both normals and ranked. So in my head, having to worry about both playing seriously and ranking up isn't worth it when, at the end of the day, you have to deal with the same kinds of people. I always play for fun but also to win, whether a rank is at stake makes no difference to me since the objective of the game remains the same. I believe there is inherent fun in playing, but not when you break down and ignore the basic rules and strategies of the game, since the game itself becomes pointless. Being a c### while having fun doesn't make you any less of a c###

That being said, I intentionally don't try in norms.

Its not fun for me, its not fun for the enemy.

Like lets say out of 100 games of norms I play. 85% of them are with people who would not be able to actually even deal with me in lane. Of that 85%, about 50% wouldn't INT to me, but they would be significantly far below in farm.

I've been there, where a group of diamond players shit on me when I was bronze/silver/gold/plat. I know how irritating it is to go into a game just trying to have fun with your friends, only to get shit on. Then all of your friends say "If X wasn't fed, we could win this game." Its just not fun, its demoralizing honestly.

On that same note, if I int against a lower skill player. People will shit talk me, but at least I give them a fighting chance when I turn on my brain. I think it is only fair. I know majority of higher elo players don't share this sentiment, and hell I would be willing to bet that about 50% of you guys don't want me to go easy on you either.

There are two reason outside of the one above.

1: I'm lazy

2: I like testing dumb shit out in norms, or seeing how far I can push something before I can't carry the game. (ngl, but most of the time I only play with 5 for norms)

I play normals to have fun. I'm going to try and win, but the effort I contribute to win is not going to be on a "try-hard" level like I take into ranked. If some rando is going to hound me if I'm not doing well, I will remind him exactly what mode he is playing in.

I'm guessing this is the catalyst that started this topic, as is the catalyst of most of these topics. OP trys hard in normals, shits on some rando not doing well in normals, rando throws it back in his face with a "its just norms". Or maybe not, I could be wrong. Maybe OP had some dude running it down mid, to be honest, IDGAF why.

Either way, just STFU and have fun. It is, after all, just...

This, this is exactly why I have adapted my playstyle during normals. I don't play adc or support champs bot lane and usually play stuff like nasus, zed, garen. This is why I do stuff like duo top or duo mid rather than jungle. Why? Because everytime we lose because my teammates aren't taking game seriously and say "it's just a normal". So if people want to not take normals seriously, then they shouldn't get mad if I do stuff like play zed, nasus, garen bot because I find it easier to kill the opposing marksman champ with champions I mentioned since most of the time people won't even peel for that marksman. It's almost like playing marksman is a liability in low elo because what's the point of putting all your gold funneled into a squishy champ who is very team dependent when you got no team play or coordination in normals? And I know duo top or duo mid generally is not as effective as having a jungler at a higher level game, but in a game where most junglers have no idea what the hell they are doing and just kinda wing it and if they lose they say "it's just a normal" then this is why I prefer duo top or duo mid because while the enemy jungle is chillen doing his camps, I get to pressure another lane, take towers, rotate take more towers, take dragons etc and win. I've adapted to this odd playstyle because of people always saying "it's just normals".

Fully agree but, I also shouldnt get reported for playing something atrocious in a lane where it doesnt belong in norms. Norms has no real loss if you lose, I dislike getting flamed for playing talon jungle or janna top. LET NORMS BE FUN PEOPLE. And again, to clarify, Im not condoning inting or anything of the sort. Just saying that playing for fun shouldnt be treated the same way.

Jack Eron1/27/2020, 7:53:01 AM1 votes

Yesterday i had ad soraka jungle SHe was in 0/5/1 over whole game, flamed all and said she does this because it's only a normal and she wanted to have fun.

I can imagine how much fun she had by helping no one, killing no one, taking 0 objectives. Literally only killing jungle mobs, is that fun? It's not at all, but easier to use excuses than admit that you are a troll idiot.

It would be great if riot could give this community a few rules. I want to have fun and i don't care if i lose on a normal but i will not waste my time for diyng in a 4v5 when my crit sona jungle wants to "try this new meta" lol. I had to think 2 seconds to see why this wouldnt work and she had to ruin my ranked and raquited after 0-8-0.

Modl Ryden l1/28/2020, 5:40:17 AM1 votes

While I don't support inting or laziness, I do understand that at the end of the day, League of Legends is just a video game. If I lose one way or another, surrender votes or nexus backdoor, I'd rather not spend more time into a game that's already gone to shit because no one wants to cooperate or work as a team. Plus, I'm not bothered by losing. If I lose big whoop, if I win, hell ye. But I'm not going to sink in 50 minutes for a win if I don't have to.

Games ending quicker is better for anyone that doesn't want to stick around for a grueling 40 mins, hoping there is a sliver of a chance of coming back.

I don't express my desire to end in a game, that would only cause more harm than good, allies having a flame war and all that bullshit. And it sucks that people go about saying that. But it's true, it's just a normal. There can be lessons learned from defeat. You don't have to drag out a game for an hour just to win. Focus on playing the next one with a better idea on how to win. What's one loss when two more wins can come of it?
