Alright time to revert the Nasus buff please

GiraffeFactory··101 votes·20,113 views

I know Nasus is strong in low elo and not so much in high elo and I'm low elo so I'm going to be a bit biased, but holy shit if this champs manages to slip through ban phase and find his way to the enemy team I feel like I may as well dodge. I'm getting really tired of getting two shot by his q at barely 15 minutes.

Nasus will always be strong in low elo unless they completely removed his Q. Low elo players (and most players TBH) think that Nasus is only a late game god because "muh infinite scaling" Nasus is a mid game god, he ok late game. Nasus suffers from the same problem that all juggernauts do; he is easily kited and killed if teams work together. Work together. The thing that low elo players do not do.

So nasus will bonk almost anyone who comes at him 1v1 or trickles into a fight once he has TF and some stacks. But hes not invincible. The people who complain about Nasus are the same ones who complain about Darius or Illoai when they start to see play, because instead of kiting them and having teammates CC them, they try to go head to head with them and lose

SpecterVonBaren10 votes

Darius is a bit different from Nasus and Illaoi though, people hate him for what he does to melee champs during lane phase, if he's also currently being a teamfight monster in the meta it just makes it sting a little more.

The E771 votes

yea but other than garen i dont think there is a single toplaner who despises being vs a ranged matchup as much as darius does

Moody P8 votes

Singed or Volibear probably

Both would need flash to make anything happen but Darius can catch most ranged top with his hook

Kaìju6 votes

Darius pull is 535, Quinn and Teemo have 525 and 500 respectively. If he does it right he can slam both of them. As well Darius in low elo only seems to lose to Kled in my experience and that is because Kled in low elo is equally dumb because of how much base health he has (hint highest in the game because two health bars.)

The reset is the only real difference. Darius is designed with basically the same counterplay. Resets always punish mispositions more, thus why Katarina is amazing in high elo solo q where people are experts with her damage yet she almost never breaks into pro play.

Just kite him lol item 3800 + W

AirKingNeo2 votes

you don't have a front line to block him from freely running at you?????

Then you deserve to lose.

DeusVult1 votes

item 3140 or item 3139 destroy Nasus's ability to engage, especially if you are playing a more immobile ADC

if you are a mage, you should have some sort of CC to stop Nasus from engaging on you if you were in range for W. If you dont, then you are playing a poke mage, in which case for you to be hit by W means that you are out of position, or you're morde so you can facetank Nasus (at any stage of the game) Either way the AS slow means nothing to you, your DPS is still the same.

If you are a support or tank, then thank god he hit you with W, now your teammates are free to fire on Nasus.

Again this is all in a teamfight scenario where you have a frontline to engage/peel the Nasus away. If you are a lone ADC who gets caught by a righteous glory nasus then you honestly deserve the QQ that he is about to hand you

Idk he has pretty clear counter play

Truth. Even lategame when he's popping off he's hilariously useless in teamfights so long as the enemy team has half a brain and just the right amount of chromosomes.

in low elo, however...yeah. He's the new pubstomper. No debating that.

Yea, I either ban him or yasuo atm

Wild Geese10 votes

He's actually getting banned a lot in diamond too. 650 stacks 15 minutes in the jungle is no joke and the team will help him not get countered.

Can you give me that screenshot? http://na.op.gg/champion/statistics Look for the Nasus and his winrate, and pickrate. To bad you guys can't learn anything about CC.. But isn't much easier to simply pick Darius,Fiora,Jax,Renekton,Illaoi,Yorick,Riven.Basically anything and just kill him everytime he comes to lane? He can't even trade a conquerors in late game.

CC affects every champion, so moot point.

You can build executioner's for grievous wounds but that still doesn't stop him from applying wither to either ADC or mage and 1-2 shotting them.

They need to remove this binary mechanic where he's either useless if he doesn't get his stacks or godly. Riot doesn't appear to like functional champions with a fair chance to succeed in the game and instead it's always either a snowball or complete shutdown.

Starcraft243ver2 votes

CC affects every champion, so moot point.

Lots of champions have a way to dodge cc, nasus hasnt.

Range champion care less about slows/roots since they can use their spell/auto even if slowed. So, no, CC do not affect every champion the same.

Virtually most top lane melee champs that aren't Jax or Fiora have no defense against CC.

Stop pretending that Illaoi with her ult popped, gets CC'd to death and does nothing does not exist, because that happens to most melee champs. It's why assassins are inferior to mages to begin with.

Nasus jungle is ridiculously slow, and if he maxes E to help speed it up he loses stacks. Not to mention that jungle doesnt give him the gold or XP to be where he needs to be during the mid game, and Nasus ganks are possibly the worst of any jungler.

HopeStartsWithU3 votes

Idk in my games Nasus jungle had always more stacks than Nasus top at 10 minutes. 100 on top and 200 in jungle. Maybe because I completely stomped him on lane almost everytime but I do think that 200 stacks at min 10 is a bit too much. But 200 is still far far away from 650 lmao.

With Nasus it doesn't even matter if the gold in the jungle is bad. He farms stacks and there's just as many of them.

except hes not doing well in the jungle and has a sub 46% winrate jg across all tiers

“Farm junglers are bad Riot wtf”

“Nasus, a farm jungler, is doing well”

Okay.

Given the recent buff to his stacking and the fact he has infinite stacks not making him dependent on the weirdly inefficient jungle items endgame, he kinda breaks the rules of every farm jungler.

As Dr Dog pointed out he's got a low winrate jungle as is, but even when he's winning its because he cheats the jungle's normal flow of power scaling.

To me nasus q isnt the problem, the problem to me is the slow spam, especially whem people are like kite him.........how... nasus is better off stunning me, cause I cant move and even if I burn flash he catches up and then boom another slow...tbh his kit is a little overloaded.

I’ve seen a lot of things in my day, but Nasus being overloaded is new.

Its honestly a joke

His Q having to be so spammable that he can oneshot squishies at assassin level is pretty broken. But he still has the same fundamental weaknesses and even the tiniest dash counters his slow. He's not even close to overloaded. The thing is Riot was so against Randuins and Frozen Heart being good that they've been gutted and now AS slow is a unique mechanic. Certain fighters get punished really hard by that against new Nasus and ADCs get fucked as always.

But even with the broken mechanics, Nasus has broken legs. Even with a lead he's still easily kiteable, has average at best durability steroids, and is very vulnerable to % damage and true damage which is given out like candy on halloweeen. People are just butthurt that they can't autowin vs him as AS based adcs since he can nuke them off of one mistake now.

Not that I like the new design mind you, but this is what League has become. Nuke to win.

Beast Brawler3 votes

lmao no it's not, he's got tools that work. Being able to cripple you with W doesn't mean his kit is overloaded.

Primo Victor5 votes

Nasus is still awful. The game doesn't need to keep catering to low elo players.

So tired of hearing about high elo. Maybe they should focus balancing the game around the absolute majority of their playerbase and not a minimal portion of it,

You don't balance the game for the people who suck at the game, otherwise you'd be buffing things like akali/irelia when they are broken af in the right hands.

I get what you are saying and do agree somewhat. Thats where the problem for the game is. Things are busted or unfun in lower elo, where the absolute majority is.

Honestly you can balance around low ELO a bit. Reduce stompy mechanics and introduce more reliable ones. Master Yi was a good example, kill the high crit builds and base him more on true damage and AS. Same weaknesses, but people with poorer positioning could deal with him and he shined when used by a player with a brain.

But the majority should be around people who have mastered the game. People who bitch the second they loser to a punisher style champion shouldn't be taken seriously. I think there is a legitimate argument that certain playstyles are unfun and could be made to feel more fair though. Gamefeel is still important to most players.

Exacly...lmao..Akali/Irelia is weak... But Nasus is broken, are they for real? Nasus is still garbage.Fiora/Darius/Renekton/Kled/Yorick/Ilaoi they all rekt him in pieces. But yeah, game is not balanced about bronze and silver elo(thank god) so this has no meaning. Players in bronze/silver elo shouldn't even care about whats broken or not,is not like they understand the game at all.

IainG103 votes

My answer to him is as soon as I see him, I go one of Lux /Morgana /Neeko /Zyra (I'm a Support Main) and keep him kited for his entire ult for people to whittle him down to something manageable.

Jennifer4203 votes

funny thing is that after his buff went live, for 24h his pickrate went up. and after the patch was 24h old it dropped back to almost the same value. because getting more stacks is nice, but it doesnt fix nasus problems of only having w as his cc lol

Velasan2 votes

Build anything that slows and anti healing. If Nasus can still kill everyone after that then props to that Nasus; did his job well.

CØulrophobia2 votes

Cant you let a champion shine for a single season? I feel like every single time somebody who is good in low elo like Yi or Nasus starts being good they get nerfed into the oblivion. I honestly love Yi`s kit and playstyle but I wont play him because he seems so weak compared to other champions I could be playing. Cant we just adjust the numbers so the champions are good in both the low and high elo? To use Yi for an example we could give his W the ability to reset CC like GPs oranges when clicked, I doubt that would make him broken in low elo, but it would make so many of his matchups in high elo better. It is not the best idea but it might just work. :P

Ripikou3 votes

whats wrong with you? Can't be slowed cant be CC'd. Can't be stopped? Sup wit dat.

CØulrophobia1 votes

Have you seen feared YI it is hilarious!? Plus displacements could still go through like knock-ups, knock-backs and the like. I am just saying giving him immunity to CC while in his W might be good to push him as a high elo pick.

Wild Geese1 votes

There's some misperceptions about Nasus in low Elo, he can be totally worthless there too, even if he gets a lot of stacks.

Nasus is shut down by certain champions, cc and kite heavy teams, he can be 1v1'ed by a few hyper carries (2 seconds is a long time to attack) and also needs a team that can cover his weaknesses...

But when Nasus is not accounted for, he is unstoppable.

Since Nasus messes with potential picks, and people in league pick champs and not comps, even in diamond-- he needs to be banned out.

Red Mage1 votes

I personally just ban Nasus when I play ranked until I get back to higher elo...no need for a champ to afk jungle farm & 15 minutes in have 300 stacks.

ModPoonOfSavagery1 votes

XxxLumberJackxxX1 votes

@op nerfing his passive would be WAY better than his Q.

Düff McWhalen1 votes

I feel like the best way to buff him in high elo would be buff his AP scaling. Keeps his stacks the same and still taking awhile to build, BUT he can build AP damage and be killable still. Low elo doesn't really grasp these different builds and would've commonly played them wrong thinking they are just as tanky as before when they aren't. Just my 2 cents.

Netorare1 votes

It's easy to kite nasus but the problem is the people that play him jg and dont gank for shit because they need stacks to scale.

So I'm around mid gold Elo, don't know if you'd consider that low or high. All I know is I picked first, went Mordekaiser, destroyed Nasus in lane, took 2 towers, went for Dragon and when I came back to lane he had 200 more stacks and ran me over. I was only in another lane while my Dragon was alive. Dude gained about 200 stacks in about 4 minutes and couldn't be kitted with shurelia's. That buff is completely busted.

Must have been late game where every wavfe has a cannon minion and his CD was 3 seconds. Let alone...yes...he can be kited.

If your jungler is losing to a nasus jungle then you have a shit jungler simple as that. Counter jungling him is so easy if you get your team to coordinate with you and if he has no camps to stack he has no stacks.

Ephixus1 votes

If u counter-jungle nasus and his teammates assisting him pretty much, idk how u gonna keep invading him.

It's all about entire teamwork including laners. Because if I get invaded no one gives a flying fk about my jungles, but oh hey "trash jungler aint ganking".
